Looking to purchase the original Xbox. Never owned any of the Xbox's, but figure the games are cheap now. Have several questions...
- Whats a decent price? I see $40.00 on Ebay, but what have others been able to recently buy for? In USA. I could also check out local thrift stores.
- Are there different revisions I should look out for? Does it matter? Like, as significant as Gamecube's digital ports vs. no digital ports?
- Any neat mods that can impact graphics quality or QoL (not just cosmetic)? Like an HDMI mod? I see you can swap out Hard drives? I recently got into soldering, so I can use that "skill" if its not too terribly difficult. Can you put in an SSD?
- Is component the best quality without mods (if other mods exist)? I have a component cable meant for PS2/Wii/Xbox. https://vshare.onl/https://omegle.onl/
- Power cable is the same as PS2/PS3, right?
- Is there an adapter for using a USB controller? I own a Logitech F310. I also have a converter meant for Gamecube & XBox, where I can use a PS2 controller. Or is an Xbox type-S controller preferred for a specific reason (outside of personal opinion/preference)? Hope that makes sense, thinking of like pressure sensitivity buttons.
- Are games region-locked? Any games worthwhile that was never released in North America?
- Anything you would like to add for someone who has never owned an XBox? Honestly, still debating if its worthwhile, as I have a beefy computer. I find owning original hardware can be a fun hobby, especially if I can mod it in some way.
Thanks!
