Fighting games are precisely a genre that I don't usually like, except for very specific cases like Art of Fighting or Neo Geo's Samurai Shodown 2, due among other things to the fact that they don't have complicated controls.

Currently, games of this genre are characterized by characters with a large number of movements, combos, several bars...etc. The truth is that I must admit that I do not have the ability to learn and memorize combos and combat systems. I prefer the direct fun that other games provide.

SNK said it was also working on a new Metal Slug run'n gun, about which nothing is known until now. I hope it wasn't Metal Slug Tactic, which has nothing to do with a run, jump and gun game. Maybe you were referring to Metal Slug Code J / Aweking, which Tencent made for mobile phones or cell phones? I would prefer a new run'n gun game, like Contra: Operation Galuga, which Wayforward made for Konami.

Graphically and artistically, the game is very poor; ugly as a bad PS 3 / XBox 360 game, quite unfortunate visually, looks largely generic and bland. I have read other analyzes of the game, where they comment that: "The control, slow and imprecise, bugs that can lead to losing progress in the phases (Various problems and technical and performance burdens). A lazy level design and at times erratic, lacks memorable moments. The story is too wordy and silly enough not to fully enjoy. I understand that it is Wayforward's first work, with 3D polygonal graphics, and that they do not have much experience in handling and modeling, with these graphics, as happened to SNK, with KOF Slug Aweking / Code J (Tencent), have a more beautiful artistic direction and graphics, in general. I would give it a grade, between a 3 and a 4
