All Monsters Attack (1969)

3/5

Godzilla number 10, supposedly the worst, sitting at 3.9 on IMDB. Found it kind of cute. Little kid hangs out with Godzilla's child on Monster Island in his dreams, applies what he learned to get away from some bank robbers. Nice cinematography. I've seen worse in this series, like Godzilla Raids Againand King Kong vs. Godzilla.

Showing that some of the titles suck, I thought number 9 was All Monsters Attack and was confused that some called it the worst one, because in that one (Destroy All Monsters) all the monsters attack, mind-controlled by aliens. See also Invasion of Astro-Monster being the movie after Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, with the astro-monster just being Ghidorah again.

Batman: Arkam City

Not a BAD game. But designing for such a broad group of players by streamlining the controls and intentionally making the mechanics shallow is, in a way, even worse.

Still collecting footage for my super critique. After ten years, I could not remember how the Riddler quest ends (and needed the footage anyway). So I did it again. I collected all 282 trophies again.

Literally the same thing. Well, Super Mario 64 was not such a big open world that they had to reveal all the secrets on the map for you. Which made the process of getting to the disappointing reward still more rewarding.

Final encounter wasn't even a challenge, since Riddler didn't expect you for once. The world feels dead after the story ends and only quests are left, because all those quests are such an afterthought.

So little effort in all quests but the Riddler trophies. And I still would have rather lost those Riddler trophies for more important things, like a good swim/diving mechanic. So many water-is-lava sections. Even a shark that clumsily bites your raft before never appearing again. Might have entered its domain if water wasn't lava.

@last_lap: I just preferred doing the stealth stuff in the MGS games more. Could have just been that I also enjoyed the other aspects of the MGS games more as well though. Just couldn’t get into the Splinter Cell games on the whole.

More options in Metal Gear Solid, even if only talking about stealth. I also liked the movement more. Mousewheel determining speed, GTFO of here. Don't remember how Splinter Cell played with a controller. Tedious to set up with one. Before 4, Metal Gear Solid also didn't have the crouch-makes-quiet(er) that's, sadly, in everything now. Slow and so uncool to crouch so much.

@last_lap: Even if there was no remake in the works, how would it be irrelevant? What, do we only talk about the game that came out five minutes ago?

Because there's been no games in the series in what a decade, and this is SW not game discussion, so your thread is in the wrong place, so on second thoughts it is irrelevant on here.

Secondly you need to cheer up as all I see you do is make threads about games you hate.

There's almost no traffic in Games Discussions. The forum as a whole is fairly dead. Same few people posting all the time, mostly. The actual "system wars" was when manufacturers still had consoles worth fighting over. PS5 already, according to Sony, more than halfway into the generation and still like three exclusives? Xbox with no exclusives, closing studios left and right? Please. Battle of the morons.

@judaspete: Fan game The Missing Link was rather inventive, having solutions Nintendo would never dare put in their game.

Would it funny if the game with Zelda as protagonist was called The Legend of Link.

Looks pretty cringe. Twenty years ago, such a psychotic would have been a villain.

If anything the franchise is underrated. We need more games like Splinter Cell and Syphon Filter.

That's different. Someone like me who appreciates Splinter Cell can still find deep faults with it. It's not underrated, but it may be underappreciated. Something can score 10s everywhere and still not sell that well or lose to the open world shit like Assassin's Creed (at the time).
