So if you know it's coming sooner or later you will wait for the PC version....?

Yea that kinda proves my point.

No it doesn't. He's made it clear for years on this very site that PC is his preferred platform, long before Sony started publishing 1st party games on PC. Furthermore, Rebirth isn't a Sony 1st party title. You'd have a point if he only recently this gen became a PC guy and now waits to buy Sony 1st party games on PC, but that isn't the case.

Look at my original point.

He can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he is a fan of Japanese games. There was a time when Japanese support on PC was pretty lackluster. That has changed over the past decade so many Playstation fans who were a fan of 3rd party Japanese titles have switched to PC because the platform has full support. I believe the remaining fans of Sony's first party content will do the same.

What data do you have to show this?

Examples that come to mind:

Persona 5 Royal sold an estimated 2M on Steam, almost as much as what it sold on PS4 (2.3M) and far more than PS5 (300K).

Nier Automata sold an estimated 4M on Steam, about half of its total 8M sales across all platforms.

I do enjoy how this might offend some Japanese though, those people have a history of not being very welcoming of dark-skinned folks. Just to stir things up. I don't think anyone should really read into this too much lol.

Let's not pretend that Western countries don't have an infinitely worse history of racism against dark-skin people...

But I can see your point. I haven't seen Japan's reactions yet, but they would have every right to be offended. However, if they weren't also offended by white samurai protagonists in the likes of Nioh, Shogun, or Last Samurai, then that would be hypocritical.

There is anime about him

Afro Samurai isn't about Yasuke, but it does appear to be inspired by him. And Japanese audiences definitely had no issue with it back in the days. But Afro Samurai was made in Japan, whereas Assassin's Creed is made in the West, so they might react differently.

I am sad they fucked up DD2 launch as hard as they did. There was so much negativity surrounding the game because of mtx and it running like trash that it would've moved around 5M guaranteed if none of this drama happened. But i am also mad about the fact that they used an engine that can't handle open world games just because its their own. And the same will happen with the next MH...

The first Dragon's Dogma only had a 1M launch, yet went on to reach 8.4M lifetime sales.

DD2 had a 2.62M launch, so it's likely to surpass the first DD's lifetime sales.

Of course it will, but i expected this to be a big seller for Capcom after the casuals have discovered Elden Ring, because DD2 looked similar (visually). And i am 100% certain, ready to bet my 7800x3d on it that if the game was well optimized, had no mtx and had a 60fps mode, this would be a 5M+ sales within the first month. Marketing was great, its a really fun open world game that is very unique, and it looked nice visually. It had everything what's needed to sell a ton, but Capcom were too damn stupid to use their damn engine.

DD2 sold 2.62M in its first week. That would mean it likely sold somewhere around 3-4M in its first month. I doubt Capcom were ever expecting it to sell 5M in its first month, as that would be in the same ball park as their top franchises Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. Capcom are more than happy with DD2's launch sales.

@Jag85: I've only learned Yasuke little of him during my international history class in high school, I ever bother looking elsewhere on the internet. All I remember is that Yasuke was a Retainer right? Weren't Retainers just servants and not Samurai?

According to several reliable academic sources, Yasuke was a samurai:

Yasuke (Encyclopedia Britannica)

African Samurai: The True Story of Yasuke, A Legendary Black Warrior in Feudal Japan

History of the Samurai: Legendary Warriors of Japan

Wikipedia disputes this, but it's not a reliable source. Yasuke's Wiki article especially has recently been compromised by gamer trolls editing the article with a clear agenda, making faulty claims while citing unreliable sources. So I'd take Yasuke's Wiki article with a grain of salt.

Yasuke himself was never ever a Samurai

Do you have a reliable academic source to back up this claim?

@Jag85: I'm trying to figure out why he keeps saying white japanese... I think he means an actual Japanese person... but with white skin?

Like he assumes Japanese can't tan? I dont know.

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't speak English... Sounds like he's typing from Google Translate.

@fedor: "It is important to note that despite popular myth and modern depictions there are no historical writings nor evidence that Yasuke was ever granted the rank or title of samurai,"

From wiki though.

Today is the first time I've ever even heard of this dude 😅

That sentence was added by a troll on Wikipedia just today. It wasn't there yesterday. There was apparently an edit war that led to the article being locked and now they're debating it on Wikipedia whether to keep that sentence.

The sources cited for that sentence are unreliable sources, basically two news articles written by journalists. In contrast, several academic sources written by scholars refer to him as a samurai, like Encyclopedia Britannica or several sources at Google Scholar.
