Humans. Stupid yapping ape race. Nowhere near as better than their skull-bashing troglodyte ancestors as they've deluded themselves into thinking. Stupid, short-sighted, self-serving, self-deluding, overly emotional, overly attached to things, easily corruptible, and they f*** up. Humans ruin everything they touch. F*** humans.

I don't vote and don't believe in "democracy," so I have no party or leaders.
I am anything but apolitical, though; I just care more about the process than the outcome. I'm of the belief that if you can get the process right, the outcome will look after itself.

Not bad at all considering her attractiveness was not any part of her design consideration - in either direction. They didn't try to make her especially attractive, not did they try to "uglify" her, whatever the Hell that means. It was simply not part of their consideration.
Yeah, I managed to get in touch with a couple of devs who designed her amidst all this mess. Just thought it would be an interesting perspective when applied to the current topic.

It isn't already?
Sorry. I kinda feel partly responsible for this, for my reply challenging texasgoldrush on Monkey Island's cultural relevance. My bad.
Eh. Sounds like Crystal Dynamics finally realised what some people have already figured out more than a decade ago: Lara Croft is a villain protagonist.
Think about it: what does she do in these games? She stomps her way into a foreign developing country, smashes up the place, kills a bunch of people and wildlife, then steals their priceless artifacts and treasures only to hoard them away in her giant mansion her rich father left to her.
Maybe CD came to the same realisation, but just used an unnecessarily elaborate wording to describe it, to which I say just simplify your language, be specific and spit it out. "Whoops, turns out our protagonist is evil and completely psychotic all this time. We'll try to make her more conventionally heroic in the next game."
Either way, this is all vague with no specifics at this point, so I'll wait and see.
TopSpin 2K25, Homeworld 3, Hellblade II, Ghost of Tsushima.
They're all gonna have to wait a bit, though.
Welp, I've started the game, at least, and my first impression is... ...disorienting. Don't know what I'm supposed to be doing and where I'm supposed to be going half the time. However, the mystery is intriguing enough that it makes me want to push on.
I might just need a guide to get me going - or at least a couple of paracetamols.
