Short answer: no.

Long answer: Hell no. Anything can be fun with other people. Single-player is the true test of creativity and craftsmanship.

If it's a banger then absolutely. $70 is an insignificant amount of money.

I’m going to say “No” for now. Perhaps there will be one that comes out in the future that I’ll find worth that price but as of now I haven’t really found one that is.

For Battlefield, probably not. The only BF I've liked is BF1, so the chances of me wasting $70 on the game would be fairly high.

I'd rather pay €70 for a solid multiplayer experience where you can spend 500+ hours, than pay €70 euro for a multiplayer experience with a half assed singleplayer campaign attached, soley there to justify the pricetag.

Would you rather spend money on a good movie? Or would you rather spend movie on a long movie?

If $20 is crucial enough to you financially to wait 2 months to save then that's on you.

Now Destiny 3 (if it ever happens) I'll gladly pay $70, the last two games I've put in countless hours with friends and had a blast playing it.

No... not for a militaristic FPS that's multiplayer only.

$70 for a new Warhawk with a similar WW1/2 style as the PS3 game and an added single player campaign... ? Absolutely.

it shows that enough people are not willing to pay $70 that they discounted it so quickly after release. You cheer leading a price increase is moronic. Do you go outside the gas station with your pom poms every time the price rises too?

No simply because i have little interest in MP games.

But if i was AND it was a one off fee (no MTX pay to win nonsense) then sure. a good MP game can offer 100s of hours of gametime so thats 70 bucks well spent.

if its 70 quid and the game still has MTX crap though then they can get lost.

I will never pay $70 bucks for any game also I hope piracy starts to go up that will make me happy. I want these companies to lose money a video game crash would be nice too but I know that will never happen again unfortunately.

The specific game mentioned in this topic probably biases my answer. But I would certainly pay full price for a multi-player only game, just as I pay full price for a single-player only game. The reason I said that the topic title may bias me, is because I feel that the SP in Battlefield has never been great, and that I would prefer them to focus all their efforts into ensuring that the MP is excellent, since MP has always been BF's focus and strength. If I want an SP game I can play something else.

One caveat though: a) I always flop flop on this topic; b) I rarely, if ever, pay full price for games or buy a game on Day 1 (and in the case of BF, I am an origin premier subscriber so I will get that as a part of the subscription).

It depends on which game it is. I recently paid $84.99 for Guilty Gear Strive Delux Edition (incl. Season Pass). Even though it comes with a 5-hour anime that nobody but TC watches, I only play the online matches so it is essentially a multiplayer-only fighting game to me. I thought it was worth the money without single player content, because that's what I like.

As for BF2042, no.

I'm not willing to pay 70 dollars for any game, especially knowing the price will drop within a few months of release.

Top tier pricing for a sub optimized experience...? Nah.

I've been paying $80 (CAD) for games for years, including some MP-only games, so I guess I gotta say yes I would.

would I pay $90? would prefer not to but I would if the game looked good enough and a lot of friends were playing it. realistically i'd find a way to buy it at a discount though.

fortunately, I'd only ever buy a MP-only game on PC, so I don't think I'll have to answer that question any time soon.

I hear this game is launching with just 6 maps🤣I really hope it blows in their face.

A game with no campaign should be less expensive, ranging from $40-50, not an increase of $10 the **** kind of a logic is that?

I would if it is a good single player game, but not for multiplayer as I'm not really a fan and get over them quickly.

I would, you can easily get hundreds of hours on Battlefield MP. Every single Battlefield game I go straight to multiplayer. The only SP campaign I've beaten from BF games were Bad Company 2 and BF3. If people spend $70 for a 15 hours single player game then $70 for a multiplayer game is a better value and like I said you can put hundreds of hour into the game if you enjoy the game. Heck I put over 500 hours on BFV.

@ghosts4ever: My friend recall The Orange Box being £39.99 with Valve selling Team Fortress 2 separately for £7.99.

We now live in a society where gamers pay 10 times this price for an inferior product.

Very sad.

Let's see. Story driven movie game = about 8 hours, one an done. That's like $8.75/hr. Multiplayer shooters many people put at least a couple hundred hours into over the generation of the game, that's considerably less money spent per hour of entertainment provided. The question is, who in their right mind would spend $70 on a short, boring, single player only movie game with no replay value?

I'm not going to spend money on either because **** that. I can get hours of entertainment with much more fun indie titles, like Valheim, Forest, 7 Days 2 Die, Mordhau, and much more.

Absolutely not.

I rarely bought games at $60, no way I'm paying $70 for a freaking game.

Especially a single player game with no other content

I would imagine the significance of money is different from person to person.

For most on a typical menial labour job, paying for bills, kids, food, animals, among other things, be lucky if they are left with $70 to spend.
