Are you willing to pay $70 for multiplayer only games like Battlefield 2042?

Gonna give it a go on EA Play Pro, and if worth it, i'll pick the game up.

In the case of Battlefield, we will have to see.

2042 might just end up being a total conversion mod's worth of content for all we know; in that case, probably not worth $70. The game was developed during COVID as well, so it's really no wonder it has no single-player component (that tends to take voice acting, mo-cap, etc....a lot of "in-office work" in other words) so I think going into it we know that they probably didn't spend as much money developing BF 2042 as they did BF V other games.

With that said, I tend to get at least 200 hours out of multiplayer games, so it might be worth it. The real question is will it be included with EA Pass on PC Game Pass?

Im against paying $70 for any game,

but i would Spend $50 on a great MP game before i do on a great SP game.

SP game may be fun but short lived. What's the urgency with the SP game anyway? its not going any where, by it after a price drop.

MP game tho... if i want to squad up with friends and learn the game... dont really want to wait, Because in MP games you want to compete and play better than others.

I'll probably get the complete or gold edition, so yeah, I'm fine with it. That is if I like what I see. I cancelled my pre-orders on the past two BF games after playing the "betas" (aka demos at that point).

Joking aside though each of the maps is supposedly massive as hell and rumor on the street has it that all updates and new maps are free. Of course that doesn't include battle passes and all that but it's something though.

I just hope that for smaller game modes they take those massive maps and break them down into 2-3 maps each.

Sony fans have been white knighting for Sony and defending the $70 price tag. They love the idea of paying more if that is what their overlord Sony tells them that is what they want.

it's a bold move for sure when games like destiny, apex, fortnite, warzone, etc are all F2P. even halo's MP coming out will be F2P for all.

I'll probably put at least 100 hours into it, so I'd say yes for that particular game.

Although, we don't have to pay 70 dollars for the PC version.

I forgot to mention that Battlefield 2042 will only cost $60 on PC, but the rest is $70. I would never pay $70 just for MP only...unless I can get it cheaper like paying $14 on Origin Pro, so it makes sense to rent this poor sucker.

Nope, if I remember right I bought some Call of Duty game when PS4 was released for full price. Kept the tradition going and got a COD game for my PS5 as well. The SP campaign was short as shit though. Knowing modern BF the SP is not going to be anything special either so I can wait for a hefty price cut.

No, I currently won't pay $70 for any game. Especially not a game which is either SP or MP only. I will happily wait for the prices to drop.

Yeah,$80 here is Canada 🇨🇦 it is! Single player for me is boring for most games that specialize in multiplayer games. Halo being my crown jewel and Battlefield comes a close second. PUBG is a strong third in my gaming life of multiplayer games. Halo is fun single player,but most enjoyable on mp.

I’ve spent far more on F2P games that I enjoy. I also LOVED the first Titanfall that was online only. If I like the game and find spending money worth it, I have no issues.

I can say the same with Destiny as I personally enjoy the game on PS4 for its time and now, Destiny 2 on PC is where its at.

I play good MP games for a 6 months to a year, so $70 isn't too bad.

If the game is great, of course. I bought the original Xbox just for Halo CE, and that was easily worth it.

The problem is that I don't think battlefield, or any other modern shooter will be worth it. I would love to be wrong though.

But even if there is no SP, I say that COD Cold War was very worth the cash for all the time I have played. BF could be the same.

I was never interested in the single player of Battlefield games. They were always pretty lame. So no issue with a MP only game.
