Is System Wars out of touch with E3?

Now that the polls rolled around it seems gamers voted Xbox won E3 and Forza Horizon 5 is the most anticipating game.

Judging by system wars PS5 is the console people wanted the most and a game like BOTW 2 is in way more demand around here than a racer like forza.

Are we just an old outa touch bunch of guys or what is happening?

Funny I saw a bunch of polls where Forza is dead last so it depends on where you're looking.

No, there is a consistency here. Sony fanboys are salty because Sony didn't attend and Xbox was the belle of the ball, and everyone seems to think Xbox not only had a good showcase, but also one of the best presentations of the event. Those that seem to disagree, not all, but most are just Sony fanboys throwing shade, saying E3 is dated and needs to go, or that it was such a boring year all around, because there was just nothing there that catered to them. Hell, even the once rumored exclusive Final Fantasy Souls-like turned out to be a multiplatform title. All they could do is hide behind the Nintendo presentation and try claiming it was so much more superior of a showing.

I'll never play it but what does it matter if people are excited for Forza? Why should that piss anyone off? Hell, best Switch game I saw releasing this year is Crusin Blast. Everyone has a different opinion.

The only thing Forza related that definitely needs work is that box art from the other thread. No cars is weird for a car game.

System Wars is out-of-touch with mainstream gaming in general.

SW in general is out of touch and that's mostly due to Cows. A lot of people here like casual single player movie games from Sony. Meanwhile the most played games are online competitive titles.

MS had a great show but nothing amazing honestly they didn’t show any gameplay of their most anticipated games by fans Halo single player campaign i just don’t care about MP, Starfield and Hellblade 2

A lot of people need justification and reassurance they bought in to the right platform.

Traditional forums comprise of (old) enthusiasts, so we're never going to be inline with the mainstream. Anyway, I thought BF was the most popular game to come out of E3, followed by Riders Republic.

Yes, if only because probably 99% of the console gaming community doesn't care enough about games to actually post on a forum about them.

While Forza is the king of racing, it’s not more anticipated than Halo Infinite/MP, and streaming numbers will show that once they release. Not to knock Forza, I love it, but it won’t compete against Halo.

I am way out of touch, which I’m ok with. Will never become a ”service” gamer, that’s for sure.

PS5 is the fastest selling console of all time and BOTW sold more than most Forza games combined so it sounds like System Wars reflects the mass market.

Forum gamers in general are out of touch. This has always been a theme. Some on here thought that GTA was the highest grossing game in 2018 and that it's the best selling game of all time, which is false.

Cows dominate forums, which skews perception. They think that people really buy into Sony exclusives like that. Best case scenario for them, the PlayStation buyers might each like one Sony exclusive and use that as a reason to buy it over the Xbox. "I'm mostly going to be playing Fifa and Call of Duty, but God of War looks decent. Screw it, I'll buy the PlayStation." Another likely scenario is that PlayStation is being bought on brand recognition in European countries.

SW just weird. Not in line with the mainstream, but arguably further out of touch with the core audience.

Ive never been into racing games... but that Forza trailer looked great. It was like the on ground version of Microsoft Flight Sim.

System Wars and gaming fanboys in general are out of touch in everything outside of their bubble, or better yet, their echo chamber. Their justifications and assurances are typical of a mindset that is unable to be open-minded and think rationally and critically. They treat gaming as a religion or worse yet a cult (religious or ideological) that demands members to think the same, hence why a fanboy of one faction tends to parrot what another fanboy says. Most gamers do not think this way, and I am glad that they do not.

Elden Ring was the hottest topic, and its trailer was the most watched on YouTube, but it wasn't counted because it was part of Summer Game Fest, not E3.

The FH5 trailer has less than half the views of the Elden Ring.

FH5 was chosen by a few media outlets such as IGN and GS, not the general public. In other words, a small number of journalists, even more limited than SW, chose it regardless of public expectations.

But anyway, don't lems feel uncomfortable with those journalists expecting this annual racer higher than Halo or Starfield?

Well with gta online, at certain points in time they even beat fifa , even if you count micro transactions. It already sold 145 million copies as well, it's way up there and probably only beat by tetris.

as for the cows, it's only normal we get such a fanbase, the ps4 is the most popular console by far, during the x360 era there was way more competition, even from the wii, and before that nintendo was still a household name for consoles that supported multiplats as well.

A lot of people may have gotten a playstation now, they may have aquired a taste for those moviegames. It's also the reason why I think xbox didn't have such a good e3, a good E3 yes from a cows point of view, that's why you get the damage control.

But from a lem point of view like myself, yeah forza looks great, but xbox is more of a brogamer station, with more emphasis on multiplayer games, this while this e3 was more single player oriented.

that's also why I think this is a very good comment, system wars has always a been a bit out of touch, I mean you get hardcore gamers here mostly, so you will get a lot of support here for things that aren't mainstream, which is a good thing for the gamer that wants something more.

and in the past you certainly had that will from the devs, since those 'alternative' games so to speak sometimes turn up to be big hits.

But with every gen passing that is less and less the case. We are now at call of duty number 17, and get ready for the truckload of remasters with rtx support this gen.

Forum gamers are gonna be far more dedicated than on-and-off gamers, or even casual gamers. There are gonna be differences in opinions. That being said, E3 was shit.

No, the problem is that E3 is no longer relevant. Even those who show up don't take it seriously anymore.

Sony didn't take part in E3 so they couldn't have won... But does it mean people aren't hyped for a Playstation 5?

I think Xbox had a good showing. People should be excited about a healthy future for Microsoft in gaming. It'll get Sony to react. And they will.... Because they always do.

To answer the title question though? Yes... System wars is out of touch in many ways about how we argue games, but fanboys gonna fanboy.
