For once a Pokemon game that looks like it's trying to break new ground and change up the formula. That is exactly what the Pokemon IP needs. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
yep...thats more like the pokemon game i was looking for on the switch. thats what sword and shield should have been (basically this renders sword and shield completely redundant). this should be an atom bomb.
....but that reveal was awful. this should have been a TP/BTOW trailer type epic reveal with rousing Pokemon music. bloody hell.
...but yes it has my attention. i just hope that build is quite old as its...well..its a bit rough (animations are wonky in places and performance needs work). still a years dev time to go so hopefully they polish it up nicely.
I am very excited for this. I have been saying forever that they need to open world pokemon big time. This is the first step in the right direction. I am ok if it is not amazing on the first go around, but I REALLY want to see them make this transition it is so long overdue.
They should have gone open world years ago. It's the change the franchise needed to reinvent itself. The Feudal Japan setting is also quite a considerable departure for the series.
The trailer however feels lazily put together and underwhelming. They should have included a variety of environment and town shots, as well as better music. Those are the cornerstones of a proper Pokemon game trailer to build hype.
Damn ... i watched the trailer again, this time full screen and my God, that thing is rough to watch, who gave the approval for this trailer ??? if this is the first glimpse of the new "Pokemon Era", the first impression is Yikes !!!
Frame rate is all over the place. Map looks barren and i don't know, but everything is so underwhelming, i know this is still months away from release and i can see why they didn't gave an specific date but i really, really hope this is like pre alpha from 3 or 4 months ago, because it looks mediocre at best.
In the end, i know it doesn't matter, Pokemon will just sells even if the game ends is ... meh.

BotW looks far better than this, probably even on WiiU it didn't looked that bad. This Pokemon thing just looks bad on any level, regardless any hadware.

Best part is, the visuals are just a small part of the story. This game is guaranteed to run poorly🤣Never have the gaming seen hardware this outdated. A new guinness record has been achieved by Nintendo. And look at those robotic animations, they're straight from 1999🤦♂️
Both look promising. Particularly interested in Pokemon Legends Arceus. It's different, but it might be great.
I can't shake off the vibe that I'm getting from the D/P remakes though. The art and animation remind me a lot of the Pokémon: Let's Go games. But, in saying that, I guess they just wanted to capture the top down feel of the originals. So maybe I'm wrong there.
I just recently got back into the series itself starting with Shield so this works out perfectly. (Didn't play many of the 3DS entries.)
