Awesome- can't wait to play it!
I'll go with a 9 and about a 92 on meta. Either way I'd like to get the game. It appears they are trying to reach for a younger audience, so I hope they don't remove all the challenge. Either way if and when Mario Maker 3 releases we will have a new game to pull from.
Mario Maker is weird tho. Like some of the creations are stunning. But also none of the creations tend to feel like genuine Mario levels we played growing up. Troll levels, auto-Mario's, convoluted puzzle/key levels, etc. Very few people try to make levels that are balanced in difficulty and platforming- they're either made to be really hard or a simple gimmick.
Hasn't it got basic filters to give you want you want?
Nintendo fans and Sony fans eating good. Good time to own a PS5 and Switch. This may be the swan song for the Switch, bring on the Switch 2.
I am really hyped to play this. It looks fresh when compared to NSMB which is what I am really wanting. NSMB really started feeling stale after a while.
Between this and Super Mario RPG, the Switch is going to eat my gaming time up.
@templecow90999: Well, yes and no. If you are looking for an experience that feels more like classic games you can set the difficulty to normal and find popular level designers. You can even play entire worlds designed by one person. Endless in my opinion isn't as good as beating a set amount of levels like the first game, but is still pretty cool.
I like the kaizo community and tend to play and upload extremely challenging levels. It's just what I prefer. I always play games at max difficulty because it gives me more of a sense of completion when I finally do beat the level.
I still have a couple undefeated levels. Although I am far from the best kaizo players I do my best and have a lot of fun doing it.
At the highest level Mario Maker games are the most difficult games you will probably ever play.
Also, if you're looking for more of a classic experience the devs upload new levels all the time.
Imagine if MM3 has a campaign and level building. That would be awesome. I mean it's not like that would be something new in gaming.
Sure, there is room for improvement, but that is also why I think a 3rd game in the franchise is needed so badly. You can play easy, normal, expert, super expert, dev made levels, worlds, popular content, most played, most liked, multiplayer, puzzles, auto, remakes, glitch/trick/gimmick levels, etc.
There are filters for just about any kind of experience you want (including specific challenges) and a seemingly endless amount of content. You want to talk about a game where you get your money worth.. look no further, and that's before we even get into designing and uploading your own levels.
I really want the switch 2 to be backwards compatible play all the classics with better performance.
Switch and Nintendo really doing amazing things this gen. I have to admit, this is likely Nintendos best generation ever.

Yea, especially because even if you’re a nostalgist, you can actually play old games on the Switch lol.
Nintendo have done good this year, especially for a dying console, and to add further games there is Fire Emblem, Advance Wars and Pikmin.
@Sagemode87:Hell yeah, no need to put one down in order to praise the other. Getting two phenomal games in a single day. Is something we should celebrate. We be feasting.

Nintendo are definately in a golden age.
A good reason for this is because they have seemingly switched to a form of management that greater emphasized a healthy work-life balance.
Treat your workers well, and you get games that ooze soul. Unlike the somewhat fun, but ultimately soulless NSMB games.
Played up to I think world 3 a couple of days ago, pretty fun. I didn't really watch anything about it beyond the first trailer, but yeah, games got a lot more creativity and "soul" than the NSMB games.
Often the case that Mario games start out too easy and then ramp up, but what little I played seemed a bit easier than usual. Anyways, early going, seems pretty fun so far. Speedrunning this game gonna be fun af with the badge system.

Translated....nintendo and xbox have absolutely destroyed PlayStation this year,i'm so triggered i'm gonna piggy back nintendo's success to try and ease the pain 🤣😂
SPIDE8MAN 2
Deal with it

You’re alive!
Picking up a copy as soon as it launches. 2D Mario games are must plays for me. Although I would like to see a Galaxy 3.
You’re alive!
Yeah man, just.. SW sucks.
Also been addicted to *checks notes* almost 700 hrs of SF6. Only gets more addictive the more I play lol.
You still gotta fight me bro. 😤

lol, I’ll send you my Capcom id, but I haven’t played much haha. I also picked up Mortal Kombat.

lol all good man, you don't really have to play me. But if you want to, sure, send the ID my way whenever.
MK kinda came and went. Only one dude in my group played it, and only because he had to do the guides for IGN. 😬

Capcom ID sent! Lol, my thing is I buy all the games I want, even though I don’t have time for them lol. I will be getting Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Wonder! Do you play Tekken? The new one looks cool.
Nice scores even though I am somewhat disappointed that the playable characters have the same playstyle, so Luigi is no different than Mario, Daisy is no different than Peach, and Toadette is no different than Toad. It reminds me of the Mario Party games (characters played the same) and is a step back from Super Mario 3D World where each playable character has noticeable playstyles (Mario is balanced, Luigi can jump higher, Peach can briefly float across gaps, Toad can run and pick up items quickly).
I would like to see how Daisy and Toadette set themselves apart from the other characters in Wonder, but that did not happen.
@onesiphorus:
I'd guess they left the character choice to cosmetics since the badges make that stuff redundant. And if they did allow for character specific abilities to stack with badge abilities, probably be some busted shit.
I've only played a bit of the game and already have badges that cover what Luigi and Peach can usually do. (floating high jump and parachute cap respectively). Similarly there are also badges that basically replace some traditional powerups.
I think decoupling the skin from the function is fine, just let the player choose.

I think you sent me an email address? 😂 I didn't even try to search it, haven't been on the game today. But yeah, you can just send me your in-game name, that'll work.
And yup, Tekkens great. Heat system was a bit sus at first, but it seems they're ironing things out.
I want a Super Mario Wonder Graphics King thread!
The game looks great for what it is worth. I look forward to playing this weekend.
It really does look great, very crisp image and very smooth.
Played some of this and the game does very much look great. Love the art style. Gameplay is of course incredibly solid and fun. Nintendo is just always consistently delivering the goods with their games.
Game is sensational, and I’ve only beaten a few levels. The NSMB games were classic, but this is a whole other level of genius and fun.
Why is it that Nintendo is one of the few developers that has the ability to get its games playing at a consistent frame rate? Is having games playing at a consistent frame rate considered a science in the game development world?

That's been... really under debate this gen. Have you not seen the average Digital Foundry video on the Switch? They even put first party games on full blast. Giving ammo to the emulation "morality police".

Tears of the Kingdom has consistent frame rate?

Their games aren’t graphically demanding to begin with. Even their most complex title, Breath of the Wild, was actually a Wii U game.
