What will win GOTY 2024

Avowed or HB2. Nothing else will even come close. :P

Sigh pretty bland list compared to 2023! That being said realistically it’s going to be FF7, but personally I am hoping for hades2!

STALKER 2 is what im looking forward to most. follow by Commandos Origins, Clockwork, Space Marine 2, Judas and indiana jones.

Horizon Forbidden West on PC.

The game already looked spectacular on PS5, seeing it at 8K resolution and 120fps on PC will be so mindblowing that it will literally explode your brain and you will ascend to heaven.

What a bummer it would be to see a remake run away with goty. An ominous sign for the industry. I'm personally thinking it could be DD2, but I would cheer from the heavens if it were a new ip like judas or rise of the Ronin, or Avowed.... Etc... New ip for the win.

From the list, I'd say DD2. Don't think the other ones have much of a chance from what I've seen. Hades 2 will most likely be the best game of those, and it's hard for an indie to win GOTY awards over good AAA games.

• Judas could be could. Hope it won't just feel like a lower budget BioShock. I also hate the dude's last game, which hampers excitement.
• Rise of the Ronin, too AC clone-y.
• PalWorld? Please no.
• FF7 Rebirth? Don't even know what it is. They made a remake, but in two parts, right? Is this something else? Anyway, no.
• Hellblade, too little gameplay.

Other games? If STALKER 2 is what fans want, could be a great game. Metroid Prime 4 maybe?

The poll is missing the most anticipated AAA game: Black Myth: Wukong. That game looks awesome and the most important SP game coming from China! Black Myth: Wukong looks to be the wild card GOTY 2024.

If you can use your moderator powers to fix that it would be great,

but it is supposed to be:

• Other announced game (i.e. games that we know about that is NOT on the list.. THat's what you should vote if you think Black Myth Wukong will win)
• Other unannounced game (i.e. as the name implies some game that hasn't even been revealed yet. Say The Last of US 3 for example or Gears 6 or Halo Infinite 2 or God of War Egypt, Metroid Prime 4... whatever :p )

The GOTY award is pointless.

We need to appreciate quality in variety instead of signalling out one best game. The best games is a subjective concept and such awards are worthless in my opinion.

Considering Halo Infinite was touted to be a 10-year Halo game (likely not the case now) I don't think we'll get a new Halo for at least another 4 years. Would love some SP campaign DLC soon for Infinite tho.

Gears 6 on the other hand is one of my most wanted games confirmed to be in the works some years ago and hoping to see and hear something about it soon. ;)

FF7 Rebirth is probably the frontrunner for now.

It's too early to say, Palworld is a great example of just how games that flew under the radar take us by surprise. There will be more.

my guess after seeing BG3 and elden ring win the last 2 is Dragons dogma 2.

Xbox is missing Final Fantasy 7-2, Rise of Ronin and Helldivers 2. So it is literally missing out on the second most likely to win game according to this poll (Dragon's Dogma 2 being in first as of this comment).

Either DD2 or FF7R. Stalker 2 is the dark horse.

I would say that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the best bet currently. Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Black Myth: Wukong are very close runners up.

All my bets are on Dragon's Dogma 2, and have been for a while now. Game looks succulent beyond belief.

There is a wide range of game this year that could shake up the GOTY rankings. Both Sony & MS seem to be holding 2nd and 4th quarter game selections close to their chest. At this point it's premature to even make a list but going off what's in the Poll I'd guess DD2.

I'm going to say rise of ronin and possibly MGS 3 remake..no homos.

yup first tekken I'm going to buy since the 4th one. I was the only one who loved the 4th one.

I don't know what would be the GOTY since nothings been released yet, but Lost Soul Aside is probably my most intriguing game for 2024.
