its a console for xbox gamers who like to waste money on crap. MS somehow has convinced them that crap is = gold. The whole last gen xbox library pretty much proves that.
Uhm, two problems with that comment. 1, you can play them at 1080P as well. And 2, you do realize they output HDMI, right? You know, like what gaming monitors have on the back of them? Who says you have to play console on TV? In about 2006 I started playing consoles exclusively on an LCD monitor. It's not hard to push a button to switch input.
1440P is the resolution used by the best gaming displays.
Though you can hook up a console to a monitor, nobody does it.
Actually, a hell of a lot of people do it. I did it myself for many years before I switched exclusively to PC gaming. Most the people I knew gaming on console did it as well. And now that I have 3 monitors on my desktop I can just as easily hook a small console up to one of them and still use the other two for PC while playing on the third.
@R4gn4r0k: It can display 1440 on a monitor. It also displays 1080 on TVs.
No more confusing than a console advertised as 8k running at 1800p on a 4K tv.
@Telekill: forgive him. He’s been having a rough time lately. He’s got Xbox series X derangement syndrome since he knows Xbox is better.
They are still selling out as fast as they can get em out there, seems to be doing well. The point? Well, seemingly a great device if one just wants a Game Pass console, low entry point all digital.

With Xbox anticipating selling more Series S's than X's, which I believe they will because most people do not game at 4K anyway, certainly not when better options are available, you're going to see a lot of games made targeting that sort of hardware. And before anyone says that kind of stuff will never sell they only need to look at the 1080P Switch kicking the living shit out of both PS5 and Xbox at that same price point with significantly lower performing hardware than the Series S.
whether it's 1440P60 on the Series X or 1080P60 on the series S running the same games with all the other settings being the same, there won't be a whole hell of a lot of people that will actually care. And without having to store 4K textures, the Series S will probably be able to fit more games than a PS5.
When console already in 2021 has a 540p title, you can't call that crappy console a next-gen
Where is @HalcyonScarlet he bought this system he wanted a next gen system hes playing some games in 540p why didn't he go ps5 for an extra 2 hundo's
@xantufrog: when the s is in stock, it’ll
Stay in stock for weeks while the other 2 sell out in seconds.
Supply & Demand is consider a failure for XSS? WTH?!
I wonder what the sales records on the Series S vs other consoles is. Are they really selling as well as anticipated? Being simpler, with much fewer components tells me they should be able to pump out the Series S much faster than the X.
$ 200-250 might be the street price on these things which will sell like gangbusters on the holidays in NA.
$ 250-300 with an optical drive will be even more attractive (traditional renting, used games, physical backlog from Xbox One).
Out of the gate though, feels rather weak in hype specially compared to its genius brother, the Series X.

Because imo spending $500 on a games only console is a waste of money. At that point I may as well just upgrade the PC. The hardware can be used for anything. If I add 200 for that, I may as well add some more then.
Zero effort troll thread with no source from an obvious alt, and the mods leave it open, what a shocker, NOT.
