It would be nice if Nintendo branched out and made the console version of this franchise MMO, but the current state of the series is redundantly rehashed. I think I'll pass.

Utterly ridiculous. I'm guessing the only reason Sony removed the Emotion Engine is because of drastically overwhelming manufacturing costs for the PS3 and was looking to cut corners. Then again, with Kaz Hirai -a much more software oriented executive than Kutaragi- at the helm, I can't say I'm absolutely stunned. But in reality, it is only nice to know that you have BC, when in fact you probably won't even use it. It's more or less just the comfort of knowing the PS3 can do it than the actual practice of doing it. I've only played 4 PS2 games so far on my PS3 and 3 Xbox games on my 360, none of which I've played for more than 10 hours total. Still, it's just comforting to know that it can be done and Sony will receive quite a thrashing for this, but they'll find a way to carry on. Only problem is the question now remains: Is the PS3 still a competitor or is it just looking to survive?
