So this is a review, but where is the score?

@Daian: Yeah, Bethesda have developed a long string of disappointing titles since Morrowind, many of which have launched in hilariously broken states.

I'm surprised that they don't score in the 4-7 range more often.

I'm loving this new version of Gwent. It's far more strategic than before, and far less focused on simply gaining card advantage.

It's also a great time to jump in, because netdecking is at a minimum and the meta hasn't been figured out properly.

Then again, I'm an Usuper player, so everyone probably hates me right now.

I was tempted to buy the physical version to get the Arwing, but I might just pick up the digital version for the savings.

It sounds surprisingly good though - a nice change from all of the JRPGs I've been playing on the Switch lately.

@Sound_Demon: Video reviews aren't new. Gamespot was doing video reviews 15+ years ago. I seem to remember video reviews from the late 90s at well, back when Gamespot had its own TV show.

Still, I prefer written reviews. This game sounds great, btw!

I backed this one on Kickstarter, and it has been out on PC for a while.

It's pretty good. The grid-based battlefield gives it a unique hook over other online card games.

I am genuinely curious to know if the reviewer has played the previous games in the series. If not, he may be completely unaware that he has to keep playing past the first few endings he gets.

The review is mostly correct - it *is* a repetitive slog, full of sharp writing and really wonderful cross-over moments.

Still, I'd give it more than a 5/10. It's probably closer to a 7.

@Xaero840: Definitely not a spoiler. It's background knowledge from the books, it's given to you during the opening scene, and the interesting father-daughter bond is basically the starting point for the story.

@spyros_aronis: So you skipped the story (which is a large part of why it won Game of the Year), and decided to call it trash? Interesting.

It's also interesting that it was crashing a lot for you, since the game was absolutely silky smooth for me, with everything maxed out. I think the game crashed once in 100+ hours.
