@nilsdoen: Again, not far off. I actually am 45 but happily married with two children. If your comment was around the price of some of the toys I mentioned, I do spend some money on my hobbies for sure but being a bit older and established in my career I've got some wiggle room for my interests.

@nilsdoen: You're not far off. Fanatec is a company that makes mid-range to high end sim racing gear. I was referring to a wheel, pedals, and shifter setup that I have. This is some of what I'm referring to: https://fanatec.com/us-en/racing-wheels-wheel-bases/racing-wheels/gran-turismo-dd-pro-8-nm. I do also have a cockpit these things mount to but that's by another company.

@dani78: There's a pretty long back catalog of VR games that will get a significant improvement to their experience on PSVR2. Some of them were even PS exclusive so the only way to play them was on the older, far weaker headset. All the problems you are describing were issues with PSVR1 (reliance on the Move camera and wands, horrible tracking, etc). These problems have long been solved in the VR space both in PC and standalone headsets so it's unlikely they'll be an issue with the new one. But, if you're gonna play Skyrim in VR, PC is the way to go if you've got a gaming rig. There are literally hundreds of mods out there to enhance the experience (I'm running a mod set of over 500 mods currently).

@kvallyx: They haven't released anything but clearly this has been brewing for a few years now.

@Spartan_418: ADR1FT was pretty neat for an early VR game, but you're right that it's more of an experience than a game. But like you said, it was a launch VR game. They have come a LONG way since then. Check out Lone Echo 1 and 2 (Oculus exclusive, but playable with Revive on other HMDs) if you haven't already. Zero-G sci-fi games aboard a space station just like ADR1FT but much more refined, polished, and with a lot more to do (even real characters to interact with and dialog choices).

@nilsdoen: Not every VR game demands room scale 6DOF controls (although those can be amazing). Sometimes a VR game might just be a racing or cockpit simulator where seated with a controller works fine. Arguably you aren't getting the full experience of what VR can do from these, but they can be just as immersive. It's like having a HOTAS setup for flight games or a steering wheel for racing games. I'm not always in the mood to bust out my Fanatec to play some ultra realistic racing sims with full force feedback, but when I am it's really awesome. Similarly, sometimes I just wanna sit on my couch with a controller and play something relatively simple or relaxed while other times I might want to clear some space in my room, throw on my headset, and run around actually aiming and firing with my arms while dropping clips on the floor and speed reloading like John Wick.

@Utnayan: I don't disagree that wireless VR is so much better than wired, but this device checks all the other boxes around what I'd want from a VR solution that I'm willing to deal with a single USB cable. Hopefully they'll release a wireless adapter or something at some point.

@warmblur: SDE isn't much of an issue on even current VR headsets so I doubt it'll be a problem here.
