@GTR12: i was just messing with you about being wrong. I have to be fair, they didn't detail that until after the demo.

Even so, in demonstration of a mission like that, i would not expect them to showcase it. All spider man games have had chasing missions like that. Even in the open world ones you couldn't deviate from the path due to the fact that you would lose your target and fail. Even in an open world a mission can be linear in some aspects.

Now when dealing with arriving to a mission location, that is a different matter. You are expected to be able to approach a mission area from multiple directions. The combat was in a smaller area.

As for the QTE, i only saw that for that really cinematic sequence near the end unless you mean the little environmental take downs as well

@GTR12: should own up to the fact that you were wrong about it looking like it wasn't open world. You can't expect to tell from a short demo showing story mission that's linear.. come on

Hell yes, but I'm going to wait and see what other games the switch has to offer. I was originally going to purchase a wii u for it and super Mario 3D world until the switch was announced

Personally, I agree with the majority of the criticisms that are directed at the game's gameplay and mission and world design. At the same time, i see why it has gotten all the praise it has.

I do believe that creativity can only go but so far due to the limited events and somewhat static nature of each mission

I just hope that another game does the whole open world third person stealth better because this is about the only one that we have had besides AC

From what I understand, you're only forced when it come to being able to develop higher grade stuff, which I am assuming is the higher grade weapons in the ongoing updates. I really would not know.

I have no internet so I am not bothered by it at all. The oy thing I hate I'd how FOBs seemed to be the only source of infiltrating complicated well designed bases.

Assassin's Creed allows players to explore the most iconic settings in history and experience the most famous time periods. All Plus, most are open world and riddled with activities. All as an Assassin.

Mind you, I don't care for the series anymore. But the games are easy to pick up and familiarize ones self with. All this sells

@metragold2014: I am a Gears, but mechanically, its not on a whole other level. Outside of the things that were added later (tag and bag, meat shield) its just a cover shooter, which refined cover in TPS and popularized it, making it the standard.

The weapons are nice though and the chainsaw beyonat and executions are cool.

I didn't enjoy my experience with Uncharted 3 multiplayer, but it does have platforming mixed in with the combat and TLOU has stealth elements and crafting, along with a little melee combat.

Gears has a lot going for it mainly in its multiplayer and gruesome fast paced action. But that has to do with the overall design and not the mechanics alone

Having not played Revelations, Brotherhood or the games that proceeded Black Flag, AC2 has received the most praise for me due to the advancements it made in your Assassain techniques.

The first AC is close second for me due to the fact that to me, it felt less linear in terms of the Assassinations, or rather, it didn't feel so easy in that regard. Also, the fact that you were given a map with different entry points and guard positions during them (something I found out years later) suggest that the series was maybe suppose to be more tactical

Well, the original Gears of War a had actual horror elements, which diminished as the series progressed, being almost nonexistent in 3 and I am assuming that the same can be said for judgment. I am certain that recapturing these moments is what is meant by returning to its roots. Also, I find the dialogue in the first Gears to be the standard for the other games if the series. It has never been Shakespeare.

Personally, I did miss that atmosphere and tone from the first game and would love to see it recaptured in this new game.

Also, I hope this innovation leads to more open levels and more tactics in single player. And the others have expressed my gripes with the multiplayer
