@uninspiredcup:Lots of that is Ukrainian propaganda as part of the United News campaign. It was the same program that propagated Ghost of Kiev, Russian warship go **** yourself bombing, and Ukrainian southern offensive (all of which never happened).
Unfortunately Western news didn't cover it that much. This NYT article is all I could find from the West.
So why do you think there are so many grandpas in the Ukrainian army if their not getting sent into the meat grinder like the Russians? Where did all the younger dudes go?
@uninspiredcup: Ukraine doesn't care more about their troops. They care more about their civilians. That's why we are seeing significantly less women and young people in the military than just a year ago. The average age is 43 and 1/4 of their troops are over 60. In 2022, the average age was 30

Since the start of the invasion, Ukraine has refused to release official counts of dead and wounded. But according to U.S. and European estimates, the toll has long surpassed 100,000 on each side of the war. It has eroded the ranks of Ukraine’s armed forces so badly that draft offices have been forced to call up ever older personnel, raising the average age of a soldier in Ukraine to around 43 years. “They’re grown men now, and they aren’t that healthy to begin with,” says the close aide to Zelensky. “This is Ukraine. Not Scandinavia.”
Yet were supposed to believe these insane casualty ratios, despite the fact the casualties have been kept confidential. Sometimes it's 3:1, other times it's 7:1, even 10:1. So many in the West choose to believe this despite the fact that an aging military is a classic sign of depleted personnel.
@uninspiredcup: This is just not true. What both sides perceive as "meat waves" is just the reality of modern trench warfare. Russia didn't do this in Georgia or Chechnya. He used Bakhmut as an example, but Ukraine took just as many casualties there, if not more.
lol it took russia killing 47,000 of its soldiers to take a tiny little town. that's nearly the us casualty totals for the entirety of the vietnam war.
jfc they're bad at war.
Most heavily defended area in the country by a significant margin.
Our enemies in Vietnam lost well over a million and won.
Vietnam should be a good indicator that body counts are kind of meaningless.
EDIT: 17,000 dead. Casualty =/= death
Never been the sharpest tool in the shed, nor am I educated. Cheated on my chemistry exam to get into college and ended up dropping out. Hard for me to retain interest in areas I don't find practical.
I have 5 kids that I couldn't imagine my life without, so fatherhood would be my vocation.
Nothing really,I’m not knowledgeable or bright. Been bullied for most of my life for being overweight and mentally slow. I was an easy target growing up and I guess I still am.
Similar, except I was underweight. Still managed to find happiness, something not every smart person does.
In my experience, there is nothing more bitter than an intelligent person who lacks success. Extremely unlikable people.
After some brutal shelling from Russia (supposedly running out of ammo a few months ago),
They had to go to NK. And it was won through meat assaults primarily. Russians dying multiple times over compared to Ukrainians. Zerg rush.
Former Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny very wisely wanted to withdraw 2 months ago. Dipshit Zelensky said no and sacked him. The results are that the town is still lost and thousands more Ukrainians are dead or captured.
By the end of the battle their defense collapsed because their artillery couldn't even fire back at the Russians. Their escape was literally driving down broken roads as Ruskie shells rain down.
And idiots blame Americans for this

After some brutal shelling from Russia (supposedly running out of ammo a few months ago), Ukraine's most heavily defended stronghold just fell
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68323366
US National Security Council spokesman Adm John Kirby had earlier warned that Ukrainian forces were running out of artillery ammunition with Russia sending "wave after wave of conscript forces to attack Ukrainian positions".
"And because Congress has yet to pass the supplemental bill, we have not been able to provide Ukraine with the artillery shells that they desperately need to disrupt these Russian assaults."
Earlier this week, the US Senate approved a $95bn (£75bn) foreign aid package - including $60bn for Ukraine - after months of political wrangling, but it faces an uphill battle in the House of Representatives.
Ukraine is critically dependent on weapons supplies from the US and other Western allies to keep fighting Russia - a much bigger military force with an abundance of artillery ammunition.
@vl4d_l3nin: Uh, have you played SH3? Cheryl/Heather is anything but subtle. The ENTIRE game is an explain-athon, lol. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but to claim that old school SH was always subtle is ludicrous.
wtf are you talking about? The plot of SH3 doesn't even really start until about halfway through the game, you're just trying to get Heather home up until that point. Where in the mall, subway, or sewers is anything being explained? I'd say a lack of explanation is what the first act of that game suffers from.
At any rate, you're missing the point. I'm not talking about plot, I'm talking about the psychological elements and their emotional weight.
