System Wars Lounge v81: The Uncanny Ghost4Edition

I haven't followed this series in years:

Gawd, this new Sony oled is insane. It’s like I’m playing every game for the first time again.

Now to start astral chain.

It took 3 and a half minutes before the player did anything. After that you drove for a bit and barely do anything, then you get to shoot at something from the car, no real depth to any of it. It took until 7:25 to get to the core mechanic of the actual game, the enemy who clearly flanked angelo couldn't shoot over a fucking bar like a putz and missed shots.

Because the shooting n moving n overall combat in Mafia is somehow even more shallow than a cover shooter.

I'd continue, but I'd be wasting effort explaining the point. Yeah it's every bit the movie game you bitch about with other movie games. Primitive at the movie part maybe, but it is every bit devoid of depth as the games you pretend to bitch about. @ me when you play a real video game, any lazy counter point you post is going to be promptly responded with a "STFU"

of course game is set in sandbox location so you were driving a car. there was nothing like Mafia in past that a linear game with sandbox design set in big city. GTA3 was just pure open world game that is parody of real life. so yes you are doing alot, driving throw the doc as story progress.

It is. you have recoil, there is no regen health, game require patience and crouch behind object to shoot enemies. its not a fast paced shooter niether its cover based one. it appears to be realistic and kinda tactical.

If it was movie game. there would be more cutscene interruption, there would be QTE, there would be more and more scripted sequence like tomb raider and uncharted but the fact is game require strategy in every mission.

That's what I said, it is shallower than a cover shooter. Now STFU until you come back to me with a real video game.

Not sure how you can watch that vid, then watch a Mafia vid, and actually think you're coming out on top here. It's absurd.

It's like watching Street Fighter 1, then watching a vid of any modern fighter and thinking SF1 is the winner lol.

Regenerating health is a perfectly fine thing to have in your system when you want to create a more aggressive action title and are going to use enemies that largely use hit scan weapons. It's why Mafia has to be played as those slow plodding shooter, because Ghost games don't give the player options to do anything fun, but play in the most brain dead way possible.

As you can see that player much like you can't do anything fun, because he is learning the systems and is going to stick to his safety net the cover shooter. But Vanquish on top of having multiple difficulties also has a grading system, to encourage players to get out of their safety net.

As you can see, Champ game, unlike ghost games, allow for better players to manipulate said mechanics to play far more aggressively n stylishly on enemies in a way that Ghost and frankly boring ass cup games never let you, because they prefer to not actually let the player have options.

Once again another L for ghost, further proof that Doom Eternal is a Champ game, and say it loud, say it proud with me brothers n sisters. Can I get an amen and a stfu Ghost!

No its never a fine thing. Health regen and cover system are 2 of worst mechanics introduce during last decade. im glad many games going away from Health regen because there was a time when ever game used to had regen health.

I'm rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix and I gotta say, this cartoon series has aged well, its like its still brand new. Dave Filoni needs to come back to this series but he's too busy with Star Wars at this moment.

Haven't replayed COD4's campaign since 07, haven't touched the multiplayer since 08ish? They've rereleased that game and effectively remade that game? I have no idea what the new modern warfare counts as.

COD4 was among most overrated game of all time. barely FPS. ruined FPS genre. short and scripted that many clones follow it.

also in COD4 the american campaign fighting in brown middle east was most generic theme in gaming.

One segment from an actual good game offers more than Mafia series in its entirety.

COD4 was responsible of dumbing down FPS (actually it was MOH allied assault first). it was not until Doom save FPS games once again. it was mainstream game that is overpraised by mainstream critics.

I do not know why would GameSpot support a controversial organization like Black Lives Matter, but I feel that gaming sites and businesses should stay out of partisan issues. I do not go to gaming sites and businesses to hear or even be lectured on what issues they want to force on the public.

GameSpot has long since covered topics outside of gaming and become more of an entertainment place. This is an extremely important issue that affects everyone and everything so unsurprisingly most any place, including GameSpot, will cover it and/or support it. This really isn’t or shouldn’t be a partisan issue because nobody should be needlessly killed by a police officer. I would hope that something like that would be unanimously supported.

Just in case anyone is unaware: The phrase "Black Lives Matter" is not actually saying only black lives matter, it's saying black lives matter too. Not sure why they don't include that in the actual slogan. Maybe less catchy or something. Definitely causes confusion for the uninformed.

Edit: I don't think it matters if anyone agrees or not what's happening in the real world. It's far more important to try and figure out why it's happening, and not just subscribe to the dominant narrative. Looting and destroying private property is wrong. Lynch mob violence against random bystanders is wrong. Police brutality and racism is wrong too, and happens far more often.

Would George Floyd's murder have ignited all this if there was no Covid-19? I don't think so. I hope for the best and most positive outcome but I'm too concerned with what I'm doing with my very limited time to show that I care. Is it wrong? Sure, but when all this is over I still have to make sure I'm taken care of and my family as well. There's a reason why Gamespot is covering this and that's okay.
