Guns aren't the issue. Can you prove that this man wouldn't have killed those two if guns were banned? No, you can't.
It's a lot easier to pull a trigger than to get up close and personal with bare hands or a knife. There's also no defense against gunfire but if you're skilled in self defense then you at least have a chance of surviving a knife attack.
I have reservations about outlawing guns in the us, like if they are then I at least would want the police to be disarmed as well, but yes I can say that deaths would be much lower without guns. I can say that no, it's not the guns but the culture in US that causes this shit to happen. Iceland does not ban guns but I think there is one police shooting in its entire history.

Bull shit. Bare hands and knives aren't the only things that people use to kill each other. Just because someone is uneasy with using knives doesn't mean they won't use a baseball bat, or a golf club, or a tennis racket, or a hammer, or a tire iron. All of this talk about banning guns is pointless when you take into account that someone who is determined to cause harm will cause harm.
People die all of the time. If you're really concerned about that you need to look into other things that cause more deaths.
And I'm not willing to let people like you and Samus dictate whether I can carry a weapon or not. You guys are actually a threat to my life with your current views. You would outlaw guns right now even though it wouldn't do a damn thing. Thus putting those of us that obey the law at a disadvantage.
I agree its too late to start talking about banning guns because if guns were banned now, then the only people left with guns would be criminals.
@samusbeliskner: It is not because of guns. It is because of people. The question you have to ask is why there are so many people willing to kill other people? I don't remember growing up with so many gun deaths. Maybe they occurred and were not reported as there was not as mush mass media. I think people have forgotten how to communicate with one another.
It's because of people with guns. People have always killed one another. It used to be that you could defend yourself though. Not anymore. It doesn't matter if you're armed too. Any idiot can buy a gun from a garage sale or from ArmsList and plug you from across the street without you even noticing. Gun in the hands of people in public is a complete disaster and a huge national security problem.

Hell yeah he wouldn't have, guns are a quick easy way to inflict deadly damage without getting your hands dirty, people don't like getting there hands dirty unless they are a special kind of sick freak.
@HalcyonScarlet: MGS4 came out seven years ago, and Peace Walker five. As far as primary titles go, it's not milked at all, especially when other franchises insist on annual releases. There's no way you can hold this series to the same scrutiny you would Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed, which probably have more games under their belt within a considerably shorter timeframe
