Glad I saw this thread before I post it.

Kinda ironic that a year where a whole bunch of games are worthy of being nominated had one of the easiest-to-predict lineups and this is saying much. Totally expected BG3 to be included but very surprise seeing RE4 Remake up for GOTY despite it's a Remake of all games.

An excellent list of games there. Just goes to show what a kick ass year for gaming this has been. Hope Lies of P gets something. It was truly a fantastic game.

@kvallyx: is the title a butthurt over Starfield not being nominated or what?

Last year the award went (rightfully) to Elden Ring despite having two "Sony" games on the list of nominees. How exactly are these awards bias towards Sony?

Just because MS games have been lackluster all these years, the fact a awards show recognizes the quality in sony's games doesnt make it bias

The salt in that thread title lol, but look we all know Baldur's Gate is gonna win. I also don't see why people are surprised by Starfield not being nominated. Where you not paying attention to how crazy 2023 has been?

If I was a lemming, I would be super embarrassed that Starfield wasn’t even considered as. GOTY contender. Especially after hyping it as the second coming of Christ for the last 7 years . 🥺

Thread title is just displaying honesty :)

But those are a solid line up. The only one that doesn't belong is Spider-Man 2, but the rest are perfect. Hi-Fi Rush should have been there for sure.

As I predicted, it wasn't even nominated.

Still can't believe how people thought the 59th highest rated game of a year was some how going to win GOTY over the 58 games that had higher scores... especially in a year with GOTD contenders like BG3 (and I guess... TOTK).
