The Game Awards: December 7!

Technically, Obsidian was already acquired by MS when Outer Worlds was released, and it was nominated for GOTY 2019 along with Death Stranding. So it turns out a MS studio has been nominated for a GOTY even if they would have had to share it with Private Division, the company that published it. Narratives have been challenged.

The reason why I asked you if you wanted to go apples to apples is because you shun VR games (as expected) yet have no qualms bringing up DLC (which I didn't fwiw), legacy remasters of 90s games, and even a game that was in early access for two years (Grounded).

EIther way, that list doesn't hold up against Ragnarok and, Spider-Man 2 let alone all the other games. Both are consensus GOTY candidates and among the best selling games of their respective years. They're juggernauts. They're must haves. They're system sellers.

Any and all talk about goty awards are in effect invalidated because of the Hogwarts Legacy ban. When politics dominate a consumer-driven industry it becomes illegitimate.

Doesn't surprise me, but at the same time, game awards are nonsense to begin with.

I'm of the same mindset, that they were bunk before this political correctness bullshit, and now they're just a laughing stock of wtf.

For the first time, i logged in on the game awards site, and voted. The last section that's about esports teams, esports content creators, esports coaches, most inclusive game, etc was such a shitfest, i have never gave less fucks in my life. Holy shit it was real something.

Voting BG3 as it's the clear winner in Gamer's eye and having Genshin Impact is an insult! Half the stuff for VGA this year is really messed up IMO. Still however, I'm looking forward to the show this Thursday night.
