Sony fannies celebrating while ignoring the reality that BG3 is going to win.🤭
Or Tears of the Kingdom😏
And are Xbox gamers gonna get to play the game in 2023?
BG3 has a real shot to do well with these awards. But Nintendo has a couple of heavy hitters too. And the biggest Xbox games are missing from TGA‘s nominees lists. How many other awards are they gonna be missing from? Maybe Xbox threw billions at the wrong games?
Starfield won't win anything but best game on the Xbox cuz its the only game on the Xbox. 70B well spent. 25 years in the making was also time well spent. I want to see Todd's face right now, and how does @dabear damage controls this situation, which i've also predicted😂
The salt in that thread title lol, but look we all know Baldur's Gate is gonna win. I also don't see why people are surprised by Starfield not being nominated. Where you not paying attention to how crazy 2023 has been?
Thread title is just displaying honesty :)
But those are a solid line up. The only one that doesn't belong is Spider-Man 2, but the rest are perfect. Hi-Fi Rush should have been there for sure.
Lol, off course the sony exclusive wouldnt belong in there...
I'm sure in a lem perfect world Starfield and Forza would
I swear, lems these days... *rolls eyes
I am just being honest as a manticore and having played those games. Sorry if that hurt you 🤷♂️
@dabear: And yet it seems you didn't understand how Golden Joystick awards work.
BG3 won the ultimate GOTY, as well as PC GOTY. BG3 is also available on PS5. Why didn't BG3 win PS GOTY? Because it already won on PC. If you look at the nominees you can literally see what they were for each platform. Each game can only be represented by one platform, even if they are available on others. A game can only win 1 platform GOTY, even if it is available on 2, 3 or all 4 platforms.
Here's the list
As you can see:
Dead Space was nominated for Xbox, but not PS or PC.
SF6 was nominated for PS, but not Xbox or PC.
Diablo 4 is nominated for PC, but not Xbox, Switch or PS...
Star Wars Jedi Survivor was nominated for PS, but not Xbox or PC.
Do you see the picture now?
RE4 had to compete with: Final Fantasy 16, Street Fighter 6, Humanity, Armoured Core Vi and SW: Jedi Survivor. Those were the games chosen to represent the PS. Of course it won.
Starfield had to compete with Dead Space and a hunk of shovelware (as all the good games went to the PC and the PS) except for Dead Space. Dead Space is a remake that is no where near the level of RE4.
So well done to Starfield for being better than Dead Space remake and a list of junk lol.
@Jag85: remakes should only win GOTY if there are no true GOTY deserving titles.
I would have easily given the 2021 GOTY to TLOUP1 or RE4 Remake if they had released that year instead of 2022/23.
2022 had Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, both are GOTD candidates
while 2023 had Baldur's Gate 3 and Zelda: TOTK, both are GOTD candidates.
2021 was so dogshit that It Takes Two won GOTY (and I agree with that choice due to the lack of true GOTY winners)
As good as RE4R is (equal to BG3 as the best game of 2023), it doesn't feel fair giving it GOTY over an original game.
@dabear:
I wouldn't want to read a text that completely schooled me either.
while I cannot speak for the cows, I gave shit for Xbox not having a single exclusive in 2022 and they didn't. I also gave them shit for not having an exclusive this year either, which again, they did not. Not even 1.
Now PS5 in 2023 had Final Fantasy 16 and Spiderman 2 ( top 6 nominee for GOTY of 2023)
Even if we add PC into the mix, PS5 still destroys Xbox...
FF16, Spiderman 2 (91 MC GOTY nominee) and Baldur's Gate 3 (GOTY 2023 and 96 MC) > S7arfield, hi-fi rush and Forza Motorsport 8.
Looking like this award show is more of a fluke than ever, lol. Even people being nominated are asking to be taken off the nomination list, lol.
Let's be serious 2 min. I wasn't even a coach this year....Take me off the list https://t.co/pxC2Xj5w4l

@Mozelleple112: 2022 and every single year is a solid year for xbox, and that is because of gamepass. We had amazing games like tunic, pentimate, and a whole lot more. Nothing to complain about at all.
The Game Awards are truly a trainwreck this year.
@Mozelleple112: I'm not reading your wall of text.
Bro, PS5 HAD NO 1ST PARTY GAMES IN A YEAR. You and the cows gave Xbox shit for 2022, and your console did the same thing a year later.
GoW Ragnarok and, Spider-Man 2 released within 12 months of each other.
It was 21 months between Halo Infinite and, Starfield. Heck, the wait between Halo Infinite and, Hi-Fi Rush was longer than the PlayStation "drought". Xbox got dunked on because it was a pattern of droughts since launch. And lets not even start with the fact that PlayStation has had *other* AAA exclusives like FF16.

GoW Ragnarok was part of last year's game awards. From the deadline last year, to the deadline this year, PS had nothing.
After Halo Infinite: Forza Horizon 5, Pentiment, Grounded, and As Dusk Falls.
Plus, AOE 4, Forza Motorsport, and AOE 2 all launched for Xbox this year.
Oops.
It's telling that I can admit Xbox had a horrible 2022, but you cows... you cows just can't put any negativity on your blue and white messiah.

Infinite was after Forza.
And, you're arguing in bad faith by bringing up half of those games while neglecting others on PS5.
I'd be happy to go apples to apples if you're willing to do that.

1 game a year for our PS5 is not acceptable. PS has no games.
@kvallyx: did you get any sleep yet? You seem very upset. You gotta calm down a bit bro
I got a solid 8 hours last night of sleep. Even had dreams of Keira Knightley's bare feet running through my mind. Then I was awoken from a nightmare where there were cows pulling on Kevin Butler's teats.
I still need to actually play Mario Wonder, Spider Man 2 and Alan Wake 2.
I still need to finish the RE4 Remake, Zelda, and BG3... Among many other titles, time is always such a precious commodity.
I actually enjoyed the Dead Space remake more than RE4 though, but out of that list, I'll go with RE4.

Let's do it, bro - last 24 months of 1st party titles.
Just finished Alan Wake 2 last night. Fantastic game. Only game I have left to play from the GotY nominations is Baldur’s Gate 3. So far Tears of the Kingdom still has my vote.

@kvallyx: I’m guessing there will be a mode where the player is running around a platforming course trying to collect all of TGA trophies that are hidden on the map.

And, remember, the "rules" that you apply to "disqualify" any games can be applied right back at you.

First Contact shit the bed with that game lol.
True. lol
Starfield development started 7 years ago, but was delayed due to Covid. The 25 years refers to this being the first game NOT taking place in the Elder Scrolls universe.
I mean there's also Fallout games....but yeah sure

Time to jump into Bethesda Game Studios’ first new universe in over 25 years. Create your character and explore the stars with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.Starfield is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Play it now with Game Pass. A letter from Bethesda Game StudiosTo all of you who have supported us over the many years and games, a heartfelt THANK YOU for all of your passion and energy for Starfield. We would not have gotten to this moment without it.It seems like forever ago that we first started talking about making a grand space RPG. It never seemed feasible, and we had been lucky enough to create games we (and all of you fortunately!) loved in The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series.
Yet, we couldn’t shake the idea of exploring the galaxy in ways that only video games could do. And so, we took the leap to create not just our first new IP in over 25 years, but our most ambitious.
Bethesda didn't create Fallout.

You really went there with the VR game and expansions? LOL. OK, I can work with that...

Anyway.
Even Starfield own reddit page is agreeing that the game isn't GOTY worthy. Just shows how delusional these Lems here are.
