@horgen I've not used a 980 Ti SLI configuration, but from watching some videos, I can see the Ti SLI can come out quite favourably in several games but others, not so much. I guess it really depends on how effectively it's supported for each game.

I was guessing the case was pretty equal to 980Sli vs 1080. I'll wait another generation or two.

Makes sense @horgen
@ThereIs0nly0ne: great card. if not too much trouble can you post some scores on the benchmark thread
Very happy with this beast of a card. FINALLY a GPU that can properly handle 3440x1440 above 60Hz. Been waiting for this for 2 years.
@Byshop: drooooooollll...
Thanks. Like I said those are old photos (they are the photos I used in the last thread) but I'll post updated ones that include my new VR stuff (Oculus Rift CV1 instead of DK2), HOTAS controls, and the other room this PC connects to and the VR space I have there.

Nothing new from me... Just re-organised the only area of the house that hasn't been wife infected.
When I build a new system then you will get system shots... As of right now my system has no cable management and nothing is colour coordinated. The desk setup is pretty much how I like it though.
@Stevo_the_gamer: Simple Setup. Ready for any task.

@horgen: no i dont.. i just dont see a reason to im not a squeeze it for everything it has kind of person. I still have a 2600k going strong after 5 years of no ocing and i feel this 7700k could also have a long life if i dont oc it.
Damn all you people here are lucky with your GTX 1080 while I'm stuck with my GTX 1060 :(
GTX 1060 shreds games @ 1080p. Although 1440p and higher res you want a beefier card :p
@horgen: It runs considerably cooler. I went from a SLI situation to a single card. That has greatly reduced the heat. And it is quieter, though not by much. I had wondered what (if any) improvement in performance I would garner with the swap, and while it's minimal, there was an increase. The 980ti SLI scored 6496 on Fire Strike, while the single 1080ti scored 6550.

Well the SLI issue is gone, and you removed 250W card. Of course it will be less heat :P
I thought noise would be a bigger improvement than what you make me believe.
@mrmarrero: Is that GTX 1080 Ti FTW3? If it is then how come the shroud is red? Did you spay it yourself? They're suppose to be black or silver-ish color :p
@insane_metalist: It is the GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Elite Gaming. If you have an EVGA elite membership, which basically means you've purchased a few of their products in the past and sign up for the program you get the opportunity to purchase select products. One of which is the FTW3 in various colors. Go to EVGA's website and check out the 1080ti section, you'll see the color options.
@Bikouchu35: Which card is it?
Asus strix 1070. Seems like half the people on here have the bigger brother strix lol.
The E3 hype is real. This PC capture the sprit while retaining the gut of a PC. The fans provide the blue of PlayStation while the GPU give off that Microsoft signature green. Finally, my MB provide the red for a hint of Nintendo's red.
Can't wait for e3 myself. This will be my second year going.
edit: dat perty box.
@TDuiker: Your rig looks good. I like the lit up RAM sticks. 1080 is a great card as well. I had a 1080 before I upgraded to the 1080 Ti.
Well you see, im not going to pay like 700 to a thousand euros for a videocard.. and now that the ti's are out the vanilla 1080's are getting cheaper.. I was running 780 before this, and didnt really have enough vram any more :D
@Legend002: I forget where I got the desk originally. A few months ago I had a custom piece of tempered, smoked glass cut for the top. It increased the desktop space from 28" x 48" to 28" x 60".
@horgen:Yup. It's a 700D.
Is it possible to remove the 5.25 bays in it?
@horgen: Absolutely, they're held in with 4 screws each, through the bottom of the case. You can see in the second picture,once the bays are removed there is an area where you can install up to 2 120mm fans.
Excellent. I got the older 550D and the screws are impossible to remove. I thought it looked the same on the 750D.

@mrmarrero: Yea, Tempered glass + RGB is really nice to look at, but cable management is a pain, and the lack of the ability to turn off the case fan LEDs seems like a major oversight.

Before anyone asks, the case is modular and you can flip the motherboard around to show off the top of the GPU. I do this partly to show off the GPU partly for airflow.
