Naughty Dog gameplay is trash.
Ratchet and clank is boring
Horzon Zero Dawn looks like a BOTW rip off
Gears is not that good
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Sony exclusives are 80% crap. Fortnite, PUBG and Call of Duty are all crap franchises. Super hero games are trash. 60 fps is fine. Digital media is great. JRPGs are great. Turn based combat is the best way to play RPGs. Choosing portability over performance and graphics is fine. Japanese devs are better than Western devs. It's ok to like more than one system or platform.
The OG PS3 was a better value proposition than the 360.
Sega was never good.
Sunshine is the best 3D Mario.
Reach had the best campaign in a Halo game.
The Xbox One controller is too small.
Marvel's Spider-Man is better than any Batman Arkham game.
The GameCube is Nintendo's best console in terms of design and library.
Have you seen Super Nintendo's Full Game lineup how the f does GameCube have a better library than that? It's impossible take that back right now.
Mario 64 is very technical its got an open castle you can explore its got the best overworld the castle is the overworld thats epic your trash solid you know 64 is better than sunshine.
So, where are the unpopular opinions in there?
Well SNES has a much better lineup GameCube for starters and its not even close.
TMNT in time,
FF4
FF6,
earthbound, chrono trigger, link ot the past, yoshi island, smw, super metroid, star fox, f-zero, ken griffey MLB, DKC 1-3, Mario RPG, Mario Kart, Megaman x 1-3, castlevania 4, contra 3, street fighter 2, mortal kombat 1-3, nba jam, pilotwings, super punchout
Do you want me to list some more on how his take is friggin awful unpopular im not done monsieurx
Nintendo games are grossly overrated, like seriously.
360 had the shittiest policies. I am still baffled at how positively some folks remember it.
The PS3 gaming library was very solid outside of the heavy hitters.
I agree that the GameCube was the best Nintendo console in design and library.
Half-Life was a great game but no where close the level some recall.
The Witcher 3 was the most unrewarding highly rated open world game I have played.
Uncharted 4 was an absolute disappointment, except for one level.
I so agree on TW3. I just never understood the popularity of that title.
PC gaming paying a premium to be uncomfortable for extended periods of time
PS2 wasn't as good as the PS1.
Could not agree more. The thing that sucks for me when it comes to Sony consoles it is Ps1>>>>>>>>>>>Ps2>>>>Ps3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ps4 (Ps5? TBD) I am very much hoping Ps5 turns it around for me.
Yeah. If Sony still had exclusives like Spyro, Twisted Metal, Final Fantasy Tactics, Legacy of Kain (no longer a PS1 exclusive though), Silent Hill, Parasite Eve, Road Rash, etc, I'd still gladly buy a Playstation Console. Half of those were missing on the PS2, the other half were gone soon after. Now it's God of War and TLOU. Yawn.
Sunshine is the best 3D Mario.
The GameCube is Nintendo's best console in terms of design and library.
I thought these were universally known facts.
You would think so. Especially the latter given how every remotely popular Nintendo IP was well represented on the system.
Look at Switch: half the games on there are Wii U ports.
Meanwhile Gamecube had the best versions of Nintendo IP (Zelda, Star Fox, Mario Kart) and didn't rely soley on N64 ports.
Also Nintendo designed the console so that it was easy to take it to your friends place, by making it have a carry handle.
That's just the awesome system that Gamecube is.
I think N64 had the better Nintendo first party games. Mario 64 and OOT are probably the 2 best games of all time.
The OG PS3 was a better value proposition than the 360.
Sega was never good.
Sunshine is the best 3D Mario.
Reach had the best campaign in a Halo game.
The Xbox One controller is too small.

Dude I enjoyed GC's library far more than SNES, and that era of gaming aged better. There's only so much side scrolling I can go back and play before I get bored.

Its cool you enjoyed GameCubes library but SNES had a bigger one and those 2D games age like fine wine...
Can you list your GameCube library compared to this? What games were as big these on the Cube?
TMNT in time,
FF4
FF6
Earthbound
Chrono trigger
Link ot the past
Yoshi island
Smw
Super metroid
Star fox
F-zero
Ken griffey MLB
DKC 1-3
Mario RPG
Super Mario Kart
Megaman x 1-3
Castlevania 4
Contra 3
Street fighter 2 Hyper Fighting Turbo
Mortal kombat 1-3
Nba jam
Pilotwings
Super punchout
Can you or solid or that other monseurx SHOW Me your game cube games compared to this list SHOW ME i just don't believe you have a better one right not I need to see it to believe it cause look at all this. Prove it to me.
@ProtossRushX: Eternal Darkness, Paper Mario TTYD, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil Zero, 4, REmake, Wave Race Blue Storm, F-Zero GX, MK DD, SSB Melee, Star Fox Assault, Wind Waker, Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, MGS Twin Snakes, Animal Crossing, Pikmin.
Just off the top of my head.
@ProtossRushX:
Eternal Darkness (trash critic darling game not for real gamers),
Paper Mario TTYD (complete shit compared to SNES mario RPG the true RPG mario king go look up Lost Woods song),
Mario Sunshine (Utter garbage compared to Mario 64),
Metroid Prime
Resident Evil Zero, 4, REmake,
Wave Race Blue Storm (trash compared to wave race 64),
F-Zero GX
MK DD
SSB Melee,
Star Fox Assault,
Wind Waker (OOT shits on this game in 3d that was an older N64 game)
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, MGS Twin Snakes,
Animal Crossing (I'm not a 8 year old)
Pikmin (trash compared to starcraft)
Just off the top of my head.
Nathan you aren't saying Paper Mario beats this? Im exxor a rappers angels I'm giant sword the axem rangers. i got the PAPER MARIO TRASH CAN. MARIO RPG THE GOAT. GENO WHIRL!
Bro you've got like a few games that are great not nearly as many as SNES. Every on snes i listed is like there pinnacle. A lot of the ones you lists are beaten by other games
PS2 wasn't as good as the PS1.

Yes something happened to Sony at some point and they just went down hill for me. Where is Wild Arms, Suikoden, Vandal Hearts, Tactics, Jumping Flash, Castlvaina SOTN, XENOGEARS, Legend of Dragoon, Breath of Fire 3, Grandia, Lunar 1+2 complete and so very many more. Ps4 offered crap movie games and trash Final Fantasy Final Fantasy 7 remake (the original is 10x better). They even sold off Sony online entertainment and bailed out of handheld gaming.
I guess bro dude games took over and Hollywood style trash movie games took hold and so gg. Sony will NEVER be anything compared to what they once were. It is what it is.
@mojito1988: I’m not a fan of the Hollywood movie games either, and am surprised that they are even as popular as they are. Just out of curiosity what games fall under the “bro dude game” category?
As far as my unpopular opinion, I’d have to say that WoW is overrated, just an endless amount of repetitive fetch quests, not much skill involved in most of the gameplay.
Sunshine is the best 3D Mario.
The GameCube is Nintendo's best console in terms of design and library.
I thought these were universally known facts.
Only due to revisionist fan history. Like a certain part of a Galaxy Far, Far Away.
Seriously, Cube was REVILED when it was released (which is ironically around the same time the Star Wars prequels were releasing), but then the Wii came out and this was everyone who hated the Cube (like SW fans once Disney bought the IP and released Force Awakens) very quickly...

That's just the awesome system that Gamecube is.
Bring up Star Fox, nevermind neither Adventures OR Assault not being well loved on release (given it's platform, how fitting)...
That handle was useless, given you still need the damn cables to hook up.
Nintendo's games are made with children in mind, and are way overrated.
Sony's game are trash, worthless games where the devs pay FAR more attention to the graphics & story ahead of gameplay. And their games are way overrated.
The Sega Megadrive will ALWAYS be better than the SNES.
The N64 is Nintendo's best ever console.
Video game awards/shows are the equivalent of participation ribbons.
The Sega Dreamcast is the best console created.
Single player games are boring
Shooter campaigns need to go away (except Titanfall)
Open world games are boring
@nintendoboy16: They are widely loved, no?
And widely reviled at the same time. Two things can be true at once.
Also not that hot a take...
@Seabas989: "Kojima's last masterpiece was MGS3.
ICO > SOTC."
Blasphemy!
I haven't played Death Stranding yet. However, every MGS game after 3 was disappointing and/or terrible.
Also, I wasn't a fan of SOTC's controls. Granted the last time I played it was on the PS2.
@Seabas989: Given widespread criticism of joycon drift (there are lawsuits up the ass right now), and hell even with more "classics" like this:
@nintendoboy16: I don't believe that is true at all.
You kidding? With every meme on how "Todd Howard Lies" (though I think there are MUCH worse, like Tatsuya Nomura, Katsuhiro Harada, and Masahiro Sakurai). And even in this particular forum on how there is a f-ton of threads on why "Elder Scrolls is actually terrible" or it "dumbs down?"
Consoles are shit nowadays
BOTW/Mario odyssey were disappointing
Using a controller for shooters is a joke
Bethesda is trash
Cyberpunk is an awful, awful game besides the bugs
Dude I enjoyed GC's library far more than SNES, and that era of gaming aged better. There's only so much side scrolling I can go back and play before I get bored.
Its cool you enjoyed GameCubes library but SNES had a bigger one and those 2D games age like fine wine...
Can you list your GameCube library compared to this? What games were as big these on the Cube?
TMNT in time (I would argue Lord of the Rings: Return of the King is better game with more variety)
FF4
FF6 (Good games, I personally the Baten Kaitos games could stand up to them. Criminally overlooked)
Earthbound (alright, you got me there)
Chrono trigger (same as above)
Link ot the past (This is probably better, but Wind Waker stands up to it, and I personally prefer 3D Zeldas)
Yoshi island
Smw (Awesome games, but I prefer 3D platformers. And Sunshine is great no matter what the internet says)
Super metroid (Primes are equally good)
Star fox (Assault is better. First game was an impressive achievement, but curiosity is the only reason to go back)
F-zero (Mode 7 was impressive for it's time, but this and all other games like it were meant to be 3D. And GX is my GOAT)
Ken griffey MLB (I'll take Sluggers or Slugfest)
DKC 1-3 (These are great, I prefer 3D though)
Mario RPG (Naw. Paper Mario wins)
Super Mario Kart (Much like F-Zero, impressive at the time, better in 3D)
Megaman x 1-3 (Viewtiful Joe)
Castlevania 4 (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy)
Contra 3 (Alien Hominid. Yes I'm serious)
Street fighter 2 Hyper Fighting Turbo (Gamecube lacked 2D fighters, but Capcom vs SNK 2 is a better game)
Mortal kombat 1-3 (These did not age well, Deadly Alliance trilogy are better games)
Nba jam (NBA Street)
Pilotwings (Rogue Squadron)
Super punchout (Ultimate Muscle)
Can you or solid or that other monseurx SHOW Me your game cube games compared to this list SHOW ME i just don't believe you have a better one right not I need to see it to believe it cause look at all this. Prove it to me.
Look, SNES was a great system, and you're not wrong for preferring it, just like none of us are wrong for preferring the GC. Nintendo's offerings were overall more polished than their N64 predecessors, and 3rd party support was much better (though admittedly not as good as PS XB).
Anyway, here are a few more reasons I love the Cube:
PS2 wasn't as good as the PS1.
Could not agree more. The thing that sucks for me when it comes to Sony consoles it is Ps1>>>>>>>>>>>Ps2>>>>Ps3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ps4 (Ps5? TBD) I am very much hoping Ps5 turns it around for me.

I guess bro dude games took over and Hollywood style trash movie games took hold and so gg. Sony will NEVER be anything compared to what they once were. It is what it is.
Yup. Unfortunately though, it wasn't just Sony. Xbox peaked with the OG Xbox (maybe another unpopular opinion) with games like the early Halo titles, KOTOR, Fable. In fact, much of the value I see in the Series S is playing OG Xbox stuff that didn't make it to PC.
PS3 and Vita were the last good Playstation systems.
Star Citizen is one of the biggest scams in history.
Im so tired of all the open world games that take 100+ hours to finish.
Watch Dogs series was mediocre at best.
Saints Row is better than GTA
No N64 game has aged well.
FF6 > FF7 in terms of story and characters.
Starlink (on Switch) is the best Star Fox game.
Bro dude games are like the First person shooters, and games like COD, Fortnight. Games made for teens/20 somethings to run around with guns and feel like men.

I donno man, my nephew plays the shit out of Fortnight., seems to be the social aspect. Not like, trying to pretend to be Biff from Back To The Future or anything. Just wants to play some fun shit with his mates. Like any MP game all the way back to the putting coins in an arcade machine, pretty much all games are better when played with other people.
Kojima's last masterpiece was MGS3.
This is false as Kojima has never made a masterpiece as he's a hack.
I think N64 had the better Nintendo first party games. Mario 64 and OOT are probably the 2 best games of all time.
They were groundbreaking for sure, but I feel as though Gamecube games have aged far more gracefully.
If I play Mario Kart 64, I'm looking at ugly sprites.
If I play Mario Kart Double Dash, I'll look at a great looking game to this day.
Kojima's last masterpiece was MGS3.
This is false as Kojima has never made a masterpiece as he's a hack.
This game was masterpiece
Most of these are popular opinion lol.
As much as I loved the PS1 and N64, I cannot play most of those games on default hardware anymore. The combination of the very low poly 3D models and low frame rates, or worse, the PS1s popping textures and waving lines just give me a headache now. It may be unpopular opinion, but I find those games to be best via emulation, where resolution can be boosted, and some of the issues with original hardware can be corrected.
Gamecube is by far the best Nintendo console. BY FAR.
PlayStation sucks, from boring games that aren't running well on the system, to horrible controllers. Yes, PS2 is included in the suckage.
The Witcher 3 is a 7/10, at best.
3D GTA games suck. Top down ones are great.
Prey (2006) > Prey (2017)
Free to play model is horrible.
Super Mario 3D World is easily the worst 3D Mario game.
Super Mario 3D Land is one of the best 3DS games.
Call of Duty is terrible.
Assassin's Creed is terrible.
Halo was always overrated in its prime. First one was pretty fun. Let's leave it at that.
Street Fighter has changed too little since SF2.
Seeing people running around with pink camouflage weapon skins and green neon clothes in every shooter today is fucking annoying. Knowing said fugly skins costs a lot of money, makes it even more annoying.
Dreams and No Man's Sky are two of the best games ever made
SW Battlefront 2 is an amazing game
PS2 is insanely overrated
Indie gaming was the best thing that happened to this industry in decades
8th generation was fantastic, probably my favourite since 16bit one
The OG PS3 was a better value proposition than the 360.
Sega was never good.
Sunshine is the best 3D Mario.
Reach had the best campaign in a Halo game.
The Xbox One controller is too small.
Marvel's Spider-Man is better than any Batman Arkham game.
The GameCube is Nintendo's best console in terms of design and library.

Sunshine is one of the most overrated game on forums. I swear it is.

People have a weird hatred for Fortnite, and I don't get it. The game is just appealing to kids and what's popular now; every game is like that. Pokemon used to be like that. Mario Kart used to be like that. GTA used to be like that. Halo used to be like that. Several other games used to be the game that friends all gathered around to play.
Gaming Forums have got to get over their Fortnite hate. It's sad and disgusting at this point. Like Fortnite doesn't have an problematic aspects as far as money and gameplay goes. It's literally hated simply because a lot of people love it. Forums gamers have got to grow tf up.
Honestly, Game Pass isn't even a good thing for gaming as a whole. The "renter's mentality" is almost certain to create a race to the bottom. We already see the beginnings of that with garbage like Crackdown 3.
The only people who think otherwise are Microsoft and their sycophants, and even Microsoft seems to be waking up, if their myriad acquisitions are anything to go by.
BC is a hell of a great bonus, but yeah... I tend to keep my old systems. Learned that lesson after Grandia made me buy a PSOne.
Call of Duty is terrible.
Assassin's Creed is terrible.
Thats the most popular opinion my friend
Prey (2006) > Prey (2017)
People complain when games get dumbed down. People complain when casual games turn into hardcore.
Developers be like "What the hell should we made"????
Gamecube is by far the best Nintendo console. BY FAR.
Call of Duty is terrible.
Assassin's Creed is terrible.
How are these hot takes? The GameCube praise? About as much a hot take as saying Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of Sith are good. It may have been controversial initially, not now. Because "f*** what released after that!"
And the internet LOVES to hate on Assassin's Creed and COD!
