It's always a bit humorous to me that a big deal gets made from the announcement of an annual sports franchise. It honestly shouldn't surprise anyone, does it?
I'd probably be more excited about this if MS managed to pump out one must-have AAAA exclusive this gen. Here's hoping they can match good specs with better studio management.
I hope this game is good. Destiny burned me on this genre. Even if the gameplay is tight, content makes or breaks these games. I'm honestly hoping someone has the balls to make a subscription MMO with this type of formula.
I'm just not sure 60 bucks and yearly expansions is enough to keep something like this going, but I'd love to be proven wrong.
In all honesty, I didn't think Stormblood was nearly as good as Heavensward was. HW was just a monumentally good expansion that hit all the right strings right on time and Stormblood was almost a cakewalk comparitively as well as a hot/cold storyline. All of that being said, the story behind Yotsuyu was looking like another cold moment in the story but BOY WAS I WRONG! By the time you get to The Burn in the newer patch content, things get real wild and intense!
I feel like they are setting up something truly great with the new content in preparation for Shadowbringers. Right now, having completed the main quest up to the current point, I can say that things are getting easily as good as Heavensward was and that the story is back in the groove. It is definitely worth picking up again if you slept on this game after charging through SB when it came out, you will not be disappointed at all :) Without giving too much away, there's a massive reveal about what the Garlean Empire actually is about and it is a real eye opener. It's getting gud!
RIP in Peace, Destiny 2. Much like the relationship with my last ex, there were so many things it could have been, but there was never any substance to the attraction. Now it's just a game I used to know lol
