@jonnybrownieboy: Shall we compare Xboxes strategy for exclusives and exclusivity at the onset of the 360 generation while we are going down the fanboy route?
Sony's blunders with pricepoint, ease of development, and online service comparatively? Come on. The leverage Xbox has into next generation is night to the 360s day in every objective sense.
Just as I thought. They upsell the game at a premium with a "season pass" that gives you two incredibly lackluster content updates, then they switch to "Oops, we are so sorry" Mode to sell the third which everyone needs to go back and pay for.
It is astounding how both terribly and willfully evil this is and also how many people they get to play along with it, anyways.
@groowagon: After seeing how the PS3 got torpedoed for its price point despite not having a charge-to-play online and full hardware backwards compatibility, it will be an absolute miracle if we see another $600 console for at least three decades.
@adayinverse: Holy crap. First of all, I merely stated that there is a gulf in the content that gets you from 140 to the higher end. It's repetitive. All this hand wringing doesn't change this fact. Just because 2 has more launch content than 1 does not mean it is a complete and cogent game to the endgame.
You know damn well that the only "Heroic" content in this game are the following:
Heroic Public Events
Nightfall
leviathan
That's it. Without an active or reliable fireteam, 2 of those are absolute blind date with a super model levels of hard to participate in. The only other way to go when you are pushing your gear level is to pray for random yellows by sheer criminal insanity levels of repetition.
AND THAT WOULDNT BE SO DAMN BAD except the complete lack of a public chat or any way to communicate with players to build off of the social element this game leans on like lieutenant Dan in a drunk stupor to do anything past Vanguard strikes at 140.
So do excuse me while I get missed with this particular level of nonsense.
