On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being a completely free country and 10 being a fascist dictatorship, the US is currently at a 9. They are 1-2 steps away from actually achieving one and the DNC aren't doing anything to fight it, and are largely complicit (most sitting DNC senators and congresspeople are corporate sponsored).

This level of police response is not normal.

But this is a race topic, it's specifically a race topic because the police and the systemic oppression blacks are facing is why everyone is protesting, and why the cops are committing such high amounts of brutality, despite only weeks prior, doing nothing to the fully armed and armoured right-wing white supremacists who walked into state houses without resistance.

The police are a means with which the ruling class control the working class through violence and intimidation, to prevent them from organizing and acting out against the state or owners of capital. All fascist countries use militarized police to suppress the general public.

Now imagine what they do when the cameras aren't on.

Fvck no. It's the only way all the stories about the protests and police brutality is getting out. All the major traditional media networks in the US are owned by private capital, and are obviously biased towards their owners and are only showing select photos and videos of what's going on, and are barely sharing POC views on the situation.

So long as social media remains privately owned, they are fully entitled to limit whatever they want on their platform, and if people don't agree, they'll migrate to another platform.

That about sums up his entire presidency.

Would be a whole lot more poetically American to have a bunch of legal immigrants and African-Americans raid the White House and drag him out into the street and embarrass the hell out of him.

He's already been impeached, I don't think he'll go quietly with an election. He'll have to be dragged forcefully from the oval office.

It's hard to imagine them changing unless the DNC is gutted and rebuilt with more progressive people. Obama and Biden are largely responsible for what's happening right now, with their increasing of police funding during Obama's term and the obvious 1994 Crime Bill that Biden authored creating the mass incarceration movement for private for-profit prisons.
