@noladem504 @Qixote No you idiot. I made the comparison to people calling it a failure prematurely. I didn't compare the PS4 to Obamacare itself. Reading is fundamental.

This is just like Obamacare being declared a failure simply because the enrollment website had some issues its first few weeks, despite we all knew the transition would take some time.

@adrianjarca @Qixote SM's Pirates was a fun game. But maybe you have a more lax definition of "open world" games than I do. SM Pirates was more a strategy game than anything else and wasn't really open world compared to games like Assassin's Creed, Elder Scrolls, Grand Theft Auto, WoW, etc. When people refer to "open world games" those are the type they typically refer to. SM Pirates was nothing like those games in regard to open world exploration. Welcome to gaming 101.

I think the game is a tad bit overrated. It's good for an hour or two for a nice chuckle. The more you play after that, the less impressive it becomes. It's like climbing a tree over and over, each time you take a different branch and discover something new and amusing. But eventually you find you can't reach any more new branches, so you just climb the ones you already did again. They do toss in some irrelevant random changes, like objects in rooms being slightly rearranged, or rooms themselves being a mirror image from before. But it doesn't take long for the novelty of to wear off.

@RedWave247 @sabretooth2066 No, it is pretty linear. It's just linearity in disguise. A nonlinear game should not play out the same way more than once. Stanley has a preset number of ways all the different scenarios will play out. Eventually, you can play them all out, and replaying them will be exactly the same.

Wait, where's the Feedbackula on all the criticism about Gamespot's epic fail of the launch of their new website?

@Corrosion Nonetheless, I'm sure the website redesign project managers are all out celebrating with their development team about their "successful" implementation and they are all momentarily feeling really good about their futures here.

@FuriousKnave You have a hard time adapting to reality, which is right now this site has some major issues and is worse than the old Gamespot. This is simply a fact. I'm not saying it won't be fixed. But for now, it blows.

I try to be reasonable with "upgrades" like this and expect temporary issues. But so far I see nothing in the new Gamespot that is better than the old Gamespot. Yet I see tons of stuff that is worse. Very slow, new features do not work, and old features do not work or are gone completely. So far this has been a downgrade. They obviously attempted to be more like IGN, but so far are failing miserable in the transition and execution. But being the trooper I am, I will give them a couple more weeks before I finally leave this place.
