@ctlaltbatman @Qixote I have never seen a game where bloom increased photo realism. And I think I've seen most all of them over the years. Maybe you are used to looking at lower quality photos than I am.
Why would anyone want to have bloom enabled in their game? I never seen a single game where it did anything other than make it look worse and wash out all the sharpness of the graphical details. And at a huge performance hit. It has never made any sense.
Having a near perfect game IP come along and take everyone by surprise is such a rare thing nowadays, that when it does happen it restores our faith in the gaming industry. Apparently, Watch Dogs is not one of those games. . .
UT was good. . . until the guy that created it also kept making it worse with each new release. I really hope CliffyB has nothing to do with the new one. He doesn't believe in PC gaming anymore. He is against modding. Modding is what made UT successful.
They really think adding a few minutes of cutscenes with Kevin Spacey is going to lure in "Game of Thrones" level crowds? I would think most gamers are smart enough to just watch the cutscenes on YouTube and not buy the game.
I never understood the popularity of the Mass Effect games for the many same reasons cited in this review of the Bureau being flawed. For example, the dialogue. In this video review, they say it becomes boring at base because the NPCs stop saying anything interesting. It's the same exact problem on the Normandy in every Mass Effect game. Things to see, but nothing interesting to do or interact with.
I have a habit of not finishing turned-based strategy games. I guess the genre is not my favorite. Civilization, Total War, Xcom Enemy Unknown, just some examples. They just become more work than fun.
Skyrim doesn't end after the main quest. It's illogical to avoid the main quest thinking it will make the game end. If you are that anal about it, just think of the main quest as another side quest giving you something more to do.
