They need to have a special prison for those people. I started to smell that shit smell often when driving my car from idiots who smoke it in vehicles. How the hell are you allowed to do that in a vehicle and get pardoned. 'people' smoking that stuff are complete idiots. I can't imagine them allowed to smoke that stuff anywhere really. It's still drugs and if you are near other people especially kids it should never be allowed. Imagine having a baby and someone is smoking it and your baby is inhaling marijuana smoke. Lul.

A) Obviously you're not. A DUI is still a DUI regardless of whether what was impairing you was legal. The pardons are for people convicted of possession.

B) Smoking cigarettes is legal but isn't allowed pretty much anywhere anymore outside your home and outdoors. In places where weed is legal you're not allowed to smoke it pretty much anywhere outside of a home.

It does look like the Dead Space remake is updated more (for example the zero-G mechanic is what they used in 2 and onward and not the lame "jump from point to point" in 1) but I agree that it should look more significantly different. TLoU looks like a next gen upgrade of a game that was out of the previous two gens, and they want $70 for it.

I think it's fine. Obviously they have to make up a bunch of stuff since they don't have any rights to LOTR or the Hobbit (or access to the author without a Ouija board) so there's going to be a greater degree of creative license at work here. My biggest issue is the pacing. I haven't seen this week's ep yet but generally my wife and I are just waiting for something to happen. Whole lot of setup going on that hopefully pays off later but we've been burned before.

Taken in isolation it's alright but I think it's biggest "flaw" is timing because it dropped right after GoT:HoD and both are medieval fantasy shows so the stuff that HoD is doing better highlights the weaker areas of Rings.

@davillain: I went back and re-tested after you submitted your score to see how I did. This is the only test where I'll likely score higher than my previous SLI config though. As soon as you start moving up the resolutions the GPU difference comes into play and my old config was "faster" even if it's just for the 3dmark and a handful of older games.

But yeah, our scores are pretty close but then again our systems are also pretty similar. I doubt the 5950x vs 5900x makes any difference but the GPU is a little bit faster.

SLI last gen was pointless because it didn't work with anything. Nvidia was smart to drop the option because at least from a gaming perspective there's zero support for it anymore. The only silver lining to buying dual 2080 tis previously was by the time I got rid of them video card scarcity made it so I could recoup most of my cost (I refuse to charge scalper prices but I probably could have were I so inclined).

I'll miss building crazy enthusiast systems with dual video cards and nuts cooling, but at the same time I'm not going to miss buying dual cards since the prices keep going up every generation or having to deal with the power/space/cooling requirements of such rigs.

@davillain: Updated. I don't think I've submitted a score of my own since I had dual 2080 TIs. SLI was a waste that generation since the only things it worked on were like half a dozen games (no DX12 stuff) and benchmarks. I'll fire up my system and try a couple out on the 3080TI to see how it goes but I'll keep an eye on this thread as we'll probably see more activity once the 4xxx cards drop.

This is basically the same post you made a couple days ago. Please do not make duplicate topics. If you didn't get a response to your first post, you may want to consider rewording the question because as it stands now it's somewhat unclear (to me, at least, but perhaps to others as well since nobody answered).

It had some memorable bits like the "house" it was set in but overall it was a pretty mediocre film at best. Dropping the found footage format wasn't necessarily a bad idea but 2 was just a lame horror film overall. Some of the acting was pretty uneven. I remember the Sheriff's lines came off as particularly cheesy and over-the-top. The overall quality of even the production didn't feel like it lived up to what you'd expect to a well funded follow-up to a very popular film.

Blair Witch 1 kind of caught lightning in a bottle and its popularity was certainly helped by the marketing keeping things deliberately ambiguous about whether it was supposed to be fiction or actual "found footage" because at the time this was kind of a new concept (a few films had tried it before but they didn't really try to pass the footage off as real in a meta-marketing campaign). Obviously the sequel wouldn't be able to rely that gimmick again so I understand them changing format and I don't blame the movie being bad on that. I also didn't think the meta-narrative aspect where the first movie was a movie in the universe of the second movie was terribly interesting, either.

All of my cars have been from Japan (Toyota and Nissan) except my current one which is from the US. I really like Japanese cars but I enjoy not paying for gas more.

@byshop: Thanks for sharing. Interesting info regarding recovery for me to keep in mind.

Most people just do Lasik which I heard is much easier so my experience is probably not indicative of the average.

@byshop: I'll probably go w/ lasers in a few years. How was the procedure in your experience?

Good overall, but the procedure I went for was PRK vs Lasik which has a longer recovery time but was recommended for my particular stigmatism and activity level (contact sports). The end result was great but it took a couple months to fully heal which is normal for PRK. Definitely an uncomfortable first few days but pretty minor as far as medical procedures go. They give you a valium going in so you're relaxed. End result was pretty much 20/20 vision, although in the 6 years since I think it's slid a bit but nowhere near the point of needing correction again. I have some prescription glasses with blue light blocking for eye strain but I'm only off like half a diopter in one eye.
